Yes. An Indian YouTube channel can have multiple live streams active at once, subject to YouTube’s published limits: no more than 10 active streams per channel and no more than 3 active streams on any one stream key. Both limits apply simultaneously. Scheduling several events does not bypass those caps, and YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee that one event can run continuously for 24 hours or restart seamlessly.
What the limits mean in practice
YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance sets a ceiling of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. It does not publish a separate concurrency allowance for Indian channels. The limits concern streams that are active at the same time—not the number of events you can schedule for different times.
- Channel cap: at most 10 active streams across the channel.
- Per-key cap: at most 3 active streams using a particular stream key.
- Both apply: a channel must stay within both caps, even if its events use different keys. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
For example, four overlapping events could fit within the channel cap, but not if all four use the same key. You would need to distribute them across keys so that no individual key carries more than three active streams.
Does “24/7” mean one event can stay live indefinitely?
Not necessarily. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived in its encoder setup guidance. That archive statement does not establish a maximum duration for a single continuous event, nor does it promise a seamless restart if an event or feed ends. Treat “multiple scheduled streams,” “multiple simultaneous streams,” and “one uninterrupted 24/7 event” as separate operational questions.

Check eligibility before scheduling
- Your channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- YouTube says a streamer must be at least 16 years old.
- First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours.
These are the general requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance; it does not list an India-specific exception.

Schedule and connect each event
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule each event there, rather than assuming one scheduled event represents several independent broadcasts.
- Configure the encoder for each event. Use the event’s stream/server URL and stream key in the encoder. YouTube documents reusing stream settings and keys, but reuse does not remove the three-active-streams-per-key cap. Follow the event setup instructions in YouTube’s encoder guide.
- Count overlaps. Before starting, count only the events that will be live concurrently. Keep the total at 10 or fewer and the number carried on each key at 3 or fewer.
- Preview and test. Confirm each event is accessible and that its picture and sound are right before relying on it. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring stream quality in its streaming tips.
Plan network and encoding capacity for all feeds
The connection must carry the combined upload bitrate of the outgoing streams, plus any backup feed you run. YouTube advises that total streaming bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. For multiple independent feeds, apply that advice to their combined bitrate; actual demand depends on the bitrate and whether the feeds are encoded separately or relayed.
Encoding also has to keep up with the number and configuration of feeds. YouTube says local encoding can support multiple simultaneous streams, while a cloud relay may distribute one feed to multiple destinations. Those are not automatically equivalent to creating distinct YouTube live events. A relay’s ability to distribute a feed does not turn one event into several events with separate schedules. See YouTube’s streaming tips and its guidance on streaming across platforms.

For a higher-production setup, YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders as one option. The required capacity depends on how many feeds you encode and their configurations; the published guidance does not specify a hardware model or a universal sizing formula.
Choose how to keep the broadcasts running
Local encoder: software or hardware
A local encoder gives you direct control over each feed, but your devices must handle the encoding workload and your internet connection must upload the combined bitrate. YouTube says local encoding supports multiple simultaneous streams. Test the full number of intended feeds together rather than extrapolating from a single-stream test.

Cloud relay or encoder
A cloud service can distribute a feed to multiple channels, resolutions, or platforms, which may reduce the work done by local equipment. YouTube notes that cloud services can have subscriptions and varying plan limits. Check whether a specific service creates distinct YouTube events or merely distributes one feed, and verify its current simultaneous-stream limits and availability before relying on it.

Copyright and channel-policy checks for 24/7 video
Before scheduling a loop, make sure you have the necessary rights to every video, music track, and other material in it. A stream being pre-recorded or continuously looped does not itself establish permission to use the material. Review YouTube’s policies and use its checks before going live; a stream that is interrupted by a rights or policy issue will not stay available just because the encoder continues sending a feed. See YouTube’s streaming tips and use StreamNeo’s copyright safety checklist as a planning aid.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel looping uploaded videos, StreamNeo works in three steps: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can be off while it streams from the cloud. Each slot plays the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; automatic recovery is available if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
StreamNeo’s plans have the same included features; the billing period changes. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, then start the free first day.
Quick Recap
Troubleshooting common multi-stream problems
- You cannot start another event: count active streams on the channel and on the specific key. A scheduled event is not the issue unless it is active; the caps are 10 per channel and 3 per key.
- The upload connection struggles: calculate the combined outgoing bitrate, including backups, and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom. Reduce the combined demand or improve the upload capacity before trying again.
- The video or audio is poor: preview before going live and monitor the feeds while running. Check the encoder output and the network conditions for each feed.
- A feed is live but the wrong event is receiving it: verify the event’s stream URL and key in the encoder against the intended scheduled event.
- A long event ends or archives: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not promise an uninterrupted 24/7 event or automatic handoff. Plan and test a restart or next event instead of assuming continuity.
Practical checklist before going live
- Verify the channel’s eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- List every event that will overlap, assigning keys so the channel and per-key caps are both respected.
- Confirm each encoder has the correct event URL and stream key.
- Measure the combined upload demand and keep 20% headroom.
- Test encoding capacity with the intended number of feeds running together.
- Preview every event, check access, and monitor audio and video.
- For a 24/7 schedule, test how you will handle an event ending, interruption, or restart.
