A cloud streaming service can take uploaded prerecorded files, arrange them into a playlist, and schedule or launch that playlist as a YouTube live stream. You must still configure the broadcast in the service. If you only want a viewer to replay a playlist, YouTube’s player has a separate Loop control.
First, decide what “continuous” means
- Replay a playlist for one viewer: Use YouTube’s playlist Loop control in the player. It repeats playback; it does not create a live broadcast on your channel. YouTube explains the control in its playlist looping instructions.
- Broadcast prerecorded videos as a live event: Upload the files to a cloud service that supports prerecorded streams, arrange them in a playlist, then schedule or start the event. The service sends the playout to YouTube; the broadcast can continue without your computer staying on.
- Publish a video at a chosen time: YouTube’s scheduled publishing makes a video public at a specified time; it is not a continuous live stream. A Premiere presents one video as a shared event, not a repeating playlist broadcast.
These are separate workflows. YouTube upload imports a file; publication makes it available to viewers; playlist assignment groups videos; and a cloud broadcast requires its own event setup.
How to schedule uploaded files as a YouTube live playlist
One documented example is Restream’s Upload & Stream playlist workflow. Labels and plan availability can change, so check the provider’s current interface and terms before relying on a particular limit.
- Upload the media to the streaming service. Wait for each file to finish uploading and processing in the service. This is separate from uploading the same video to YouTube. YouTube notes that its own processing time varies with quality, length, format, and traffic; a video can be published once SD processing is complete. See YouTube’s upload instructions.
- Create a prerecorded livestream playlist. Add the uploaded files and arrange them in the order you want viewers to see. In Restream’s documented workflow, playlist events go live automatically at their scheduled time on supported platforms. See Restream’s playlist instructions.
- Select YouTube as the destination. Confirm the intended channel and any required connection or stream setup in the service. Do not assume that assigning a video to a YouTube playlist also connects it to a live event.
- Check the playlist and schedule the event. Verify the order, start time, destination, and any available title or visibility settings before scheduling. Restream says its playlist can be up to 24 hours long and contain up to 40 entries. Its cited instructions say the playlist cannot be edited once it is airing, so make content changes before the broadcast starts.
- Verify the channel’s live page at airtime. Check that the event appears and is playing as expected. “Automatic” means the configured event can start without you being at your computer; it does not mean future uploads are automatically detected and added to the playlist.
What cloud playlist services offer—and what to check
Restream’s playlist feature is described as part of its Upload & Stream add-on tiers, named Marathon and Media. Its help page, published July 25, 2026, lists Marathon at $79/month with a four-hour video library and 1080p maximum resolution, and Media at $239/month with a 12-hour library and 4K maximum resolution. These are vendor-published prices and limits, not independent performance findings; confirm current terms with Restream before subscribing.

Do not confuse playlist playback with looping one file. Restream’s separate Upload & Stream article says a single prerecorded video can be looped up to 10 times, for a maximum 40-hour stream, while playlists themselves do not support looping. Duplicating videos within the playlist is subject to its 40-entry limit. See Restream’s Upload & Stream overview.
YouTube’s live-streaming tools directory also lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded YouTube streams. Gyre describes uploading files to cloud storage, arranging them in a looping playlist, and running that playlist as a live stream. The listing is an official directory entry, while operational details are the provider’s own claims: YouTube’s encoder and tools page and Gyre.

Before choosing a service, compare the details that determine whether it fits your workflow:
- Does it support a one-time scheduled event, continuous streaming, playlist looping, or only looping one video?
- What are the maximum playlist duration and item count?
- Can you edit the playlist while it is live, or must changes wait until the next event?
- What storage, file, resolution, and transcoding limits apply?
- Does the event start automatically at the scheduled time, and is YouTube supported for your intended channel?
- Is the needed feature included in the plan or sold as an add-on?
Available documentation establishes workflows and feature limits, not a controlled comparison of reliability or audience performance. Choose based on the capabilities and terms the provider states for your use case.

Other YouTube options are not continuous playlist broadcasts
Repeat a playlist in the player
While watching a video that belongs to a playlist, open the playlist box and turn on Loop to repeat it for that playback session. YouTube’s queue is different: it is temporary and does not save after the browser closes. See YouTube’s queue instructions.
Schedule a video or use a Premiere
YouTube lets you schedule a video to become public at a chosen date and time; until then, it remains private. An active Community Guidelines strike can prevent a scheduled upload from publishing during the penalty period. A Premiere is a shared real-time event for one video, either after processing or at a scheduled time—not a continuous playlist stream. See YouTube’s scheduling guidance and its upload guidance.

Send a live feed from an encoder
If you have a live source or playout system, you can send its feed to YouTube with an encoder by entering YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. This approach sends a live feed; it is not the same as uploading files to a cloud playlist service. Rights and channel-policy checks before going live
A cloud service handles playout; it does not grant permission to broadcast the videos. Before scheduling, confirm you have the rights needed for every video and any music, images, or other material it contains. YouTube’s copyright rules and channel policies still apply to prerecorded material. A playlist broadcast also does not guarantee monetization or audience growth.
