You can send a prerecorded yoga video to YouTube as a continuous livestream using an encoder or a cloud service built for looping prerecorded video. YouTube’s player Loop control only repeats a video for a viewer; it does not turn a regular upload into a live broadcast. Before going live, check channel eligibility, streaming setup, and your rights to the video and any music.
What “looping on YouTube Live” means
A YouTube livestream is a video feed sent to YouTube through a live-streaming workflow. The Loop control described in YouTube’s video-looping help repeats playback for the viewer; it does not broadcast an uploaded video as a live event.
To keep the same yoga session live, use an encoder that repeats the video or a cloud service that explicitly supports continuous streaming of prerecorded videos. YouTube’s encoder guide covers software and hardware encoders and names Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. YouTube describes listed encoders as products not made by YouTube; that listing is not an independent performance test or a guarantee of a vendor’s service.
Before you start: channel access and content rights
Confirm livestream access
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; the minimum age to livestream is 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the broadcast day. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup help.

Make sure you can rebroadcast the video and music
You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the live content and its archive, including music rights, under YouTube’s livestream terms. Having a copy of a yoga video, or being able to watch it, does not by itself give permission to rebroadcast it. Confirm rights for the instruction, footage, music, and any other included material before streaming.
How to set up a prerecorded yoga livestream with an encoder
- Enable live streaming. Complete channel verification and activation in YouTube Studio, then allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation if necessary.
- Create the livestream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the stream URL and stream key connection.
- Connect your encoder. Enter the stream URL and key in the encoder and select the prerecorded yoga video as its source. Configure repeat or loop playback in the encoder if available; exact controls vary by software or hardware.
- Choose settings that your connection can sustain. Set resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval in accordance with YouTube’s current encoder settings and bitrate guidance. Pick a bitrate your upload connection can sustain and leave capacity for network variation: YouTube’s streaming tips recommend 20% extra upload capacity. Use RTMPS where supported; YouTube recommends it as a secure extension of RTMP.
- Test before the all-day broadcast. Start a test stream, inspect the Live Control Room preview, and check picture, audio, and stream health. YouTube advises testing and monitoring rather than assuming a configured stream is healthy; see its live-streaming tips and streaming tips.
- Start the stream and monitor it. Keep an eye on the encoder and YouTube’s stream-health indicators. A local encoder depends on the computer, encoder, and internet connection staying available throughout the broadcast.
Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control your stream. You can manage it through the Live Control Room if you need to replace it.

Will YouTube save an all-day livestream?
Do not count on the entire broadcast becoming a replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the whole session matters, record a local copy as a backup. See YouTube’s archive-live-stream guidance.

Common problems and fixes
- The stream does not appear live: Verify that live streaming is enabled and that the encoder is using the current stream URL and key from the Live Control Room.
- The video stops or the stream health degrades: Check that the computer, encoder, and internet connection remain active in a local setup. Check bitrate against available upload capacity and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- The preview has no audio or the wrong picture: Confirm the encoder’s selected source and audio routing, then test and inspect the preview before relying on the broadcast.
- The replay is incomplete or missing: An over-12-hour stream may not be captured. Keep a local recording when a complete archive is important.
- YouTube raises a rights concern: Review permissions for both the yoga video and its soundtrack; possession of a file does not establish rebroadcast rights.
