Yes. PlayStation explicitly lists the Sony BRAVIA XR A95L as a supported Android TV model for the PS Remote Play app. Your television must run Android TV OS 12 or later, and the app must be available in its on-TV app store. Remote Play streams a game from a PS4 or PS5; it does not run console games natively on the A95L.
What you need
- A Sony BRAVIA XR A95L with Android TV OS 12 or later.
- A PS4 or PS5 connected to the internet, with Remote Play enabled.
- The free PS Remote Play app installed on the TV.
- A compatible game installed on the console.
- A compatible wireless controller, such as a DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4.
- At least 5 Mbps broadband; PlayStation recommends at least 15 Mbps for a better experience.
Network conditions, Wi-Fi congestion and the distance between the console and TV can affect image quality, responsiveness and connection stability.
How to set up PS Remote Play on the A95L
- Check the TV software: open the A95L’s settings and verify that it is running Android TV OS 12 or later. Search the TV’s app store for “PS Remote Play.” PlayStation lists the A95L as a supported Android TV model, but app visibility still depends on the installed software and regional availability.
- Enable Remote Play on the console: turn on Remote Play in the PS4 or PS5 settings. Keep the console connected to the internet and either powered on or configured to remain reachable in Rest Mode.
- Install and open the app: download PS Remote Play, then sign in with the same PlayStation account used on the console.
- Connect to the console: select the PS4 or PS5 shown by the app and follow the pairing prompts.
- Pair a controller: connect a DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to the TV, then launch a compatible game.
- Check the connection: use a wired or strong wireless network where possible. PlayStation lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 15 Mbps as the recommended rate for a better experience.
What the A95L contributes to Remote Play
Sony identifies the A95L as a 2023 BRAVIA XR MASTER Series television. The XR-65A95L specifications describe a 4K QD-OLED panel, 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR support. Those display capabilities can improve the presentation of a streamed game, but they do not remove the latency or compression inherent in network streaming.

Model sizes and regional configurations can differ. Sony’s current US support listing shows an XR-65A95L firmware update dated June 23, 2026; check the support page for the exact size and region of your television.

A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Remote Play is different from connecting a console by HDMI
With direct HDMI gaming, the PS4 or PS5 sends its output straight to the television and can use the A95L’s HDMI 2.1 features on inputs 3 and 4. With Remote Play, the console renders the game, encodes the video and sends it over the network to the TV app. That arrangement lets you play without moving the console, but network delay and streaming artifacts are possible. PlayStation specifically warns that greater distance between the console and remote TV may increase latency.
Controller and game limitations
PlayStation’s official wording says you can download the app on a BRAVIA XR A95L and play with a DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller. Controller support is not identical to using the pad directly with a PS5 or PS4:

- On Android TV Remote Play, DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, controller audio output and the built-in microphone are not supported.
- DUALSHOCK 4 also has feature and audio limitations in the Android TV app.
- Games that require a PlayStation VR headset or other additional peripherals are among the incompatible cases.
Check each game’s control requirements before relying on Remote Play for it.
Troubleshooting checklist
The app does not appear
Confirm that the TV reports Android TV OS 12 or later, install available TV updates, restart the TV and search the app store again. PlayStation’s supported-model list does not verify the software version installed on an individual set.

The console is not found
Verify that Remote Play is enabled, the console uses the same PlayStation account as the TV app, and the console is online. If using Rest Mode, enable the settings that keep the console connected to the internet and allow it to be turned on over the network.
Video stutters or controls feel delayed
Test the network against PlayStation’s 5 Mbps minimum, aim for 15 Mbps or more, reduce competing traffic and improve the connection between the TV and router. If the console and TV are far apart, latency may increase; direct HDMI is the more predictable option for timing-sensitive play.

Bottom line for A95L owners
The BRAVIA XR A95L is officially supported for PS Remote Play when it runs Android TV OS 12 or later. It is a convenient way to stream PS4 or PS5 games to the QD-OLED screen, provided you have the console, a compatible controller and a sufficiently reliable network. For the lowest and most consistent latency, connect the console directly by HDMI instead.
