Yes. YouTube’s general documentation says you can create a custom stream key to reuse, and its encoder workflow can load settings from a previous stream, including its key. But reusing a key only lets an encoder reconnect with the same credential; it does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast or establish how YouTube will archive a stream lasting longer than 12 hours.
The official guidance describes general YouTube rules, not a separate rule for creators in India. The same documented workflow is relevant to Indian creators, but the pages do not independently verify regional availability.
What reusing a stream key does—and does not do
A stream key is the credential an encoder uses to connect its feed to YouTube. YouTube Help states: “To reuse the same stream key, create a custom stream key.” You can also load a previous stream’s settings in the encoder workflow, which may include the key. YouTube’s guide to managing live stream settings explains custom keys and resetting a compromised one.
Reusing a key is not the same as keeping a broadcast alive. The encoder must still send video and audio, and you must manage the stream’s start, stop, and continuity. The cited YouTube instructions do not promise that a repeated connection will be treated as one uninterrupted live event, nor do they describe uptime or automatic restart guarantees for a 24/7 playlist.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Repeated sessions versus one continuous broadcast
| What to consider | Separate sessions with a reusable key | One continuous 24/7 broadcast |
|---|---|---|
| What is reused | The custom stream key, and optionally settings from a previous stream. | An encoder may use the same key, but YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish continuous-event behavior. |
| Stream lifecycle | The encoder feed is stopped and started for separate sessions using YouTube’s encoder workflow. | The feed must remain live continuously; the cited guidance does not specify uptime guarantees or how interruptions are handled. |
| Archive expectation | YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. | That rule does not establish that a stream longer than 12 hours will be archived as one video. |
| Operational checks | Reconnect using the custom key; reset it if compromised. | Monitor the encoder and feed for continuity, and check audio and video quality. |
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. They do not promise a single archive for a longer broadcast, so do not plan on a 24/7 stream producing one complete video archive based on that statement alone.
How to reuse a key for a recurring playlist
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days, and meet the minimum age requirement of 16. The same page lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are the figures shown in YouTube Help in 2026; the page does not display a publication year, and platform rules can change. See Get started with live streaming.
- Open the encoder workflow. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and choose the Stream tab. Create a custom stream key if you want a reusable key, or load a previous stream’s settings if appropriate. YouTube’s stream settings guide covers key reuse.
- Configure your encoder. Enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key in the encoder. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. YouTube’s encoder instructions cover connecting and starting a stream.
- Start and check the feed. Start the encoder, check the preview in Live Control Room, and use the start and end controls for the stream mode you selected. For a recurring playlist, the key enables the encoder to reconnect; it does not schedule or loop the playlist, monitor the feed, or guarantee continuous uptime.
- Protect the key if it is exposed. Reset it in Live Control Room using YouTube’s stream settings controls, then update the encoder with the newly generated key. The old key will no longer be the credential to use.
Monitoring and hardware choices
YouTube’s live streaming tips describe software and hardware encoder options and recommend professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events. They do not say that dedicated hardware is required to run a playlist. Whatever encoder you choose, monitor audio and video quality and confirm that the feed is still reaching Live Control Room.

Copyright and channel-policy checks for a playlist
A reusable key is only a connection credential; it does not grant rights to the videos or music in your playlist, or determine whether a channel qualifies for monetization. Before broadcasting, make sure you have the necessary rights to every recording and track. YouTube’s cited key and encoder instructions do not establish that a playlist is copyright-safe or that repeated or reused material will meet monetization requirements. Check the rules that apply to your content and channel rather than treating a successful connection as approval.

If your goal is a pre-recorded YouTube playlist that keeps running without a computer or home connection left on, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded video from the cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera.
