Usually, if you mean watching three YouTube playlists at once and already own a suitable PC. You would pay mainly for the PC’s additional electricity and any added internet or data costs. A cloud computer can add compute charges—and you still need a way to get its video output to the screens or viewers. If you mean broadcasting three continuous feeds to YouTube, that is a different workload with different upload and cloud-transfer costs.
Whether one low-power PC can handle three simultaneous playbacks depends on its hardware, video codec, browser, resolution and other workloads. There is no verified benchmark here for a specific mini PC running three playlist sessions. Measure the machine you plan to use rather than assuming a low-power label guarantees smooth playback.
First clarify what “three YouTube playlist streams” means
For this comparison, “playlist streams” can mean either watching three concurrent YouTube videos or sending continuous live broadcasts to YouTube. They are not interchangeable: playback receives video and primarily uses download bandwidth; broadcasting encodes and uploads video, and cloud hosting can add substantial outbound-transfer costs.
- Watching three playlists: The PC receives and decodes three videos for local viewing. If you move playback to a cloud PC, you must also deliver its output to the viewer, potentially shifting traffic to remote-display or another delivery service.
- Broadcasting three feeds: The computer sends encoded video to YouTube Live. Stable upload capacity matters, and a hosted machine may incur compute and outbound-transfer charges.
The title’s cost question is most useful when answered first for playback, then separately for continuous broadcasts.

Can one low-power PC play all three?
Possibly, but it depends on the exact computer and playback settings. Three simultaneous videos require the browser and system to decode each stream, and the required work varies with resolution, codec, frame rate and hardware-accelerated decoding support. A machine that handles one video comfortably is not thereby proven to handle three.
Before buying a dedicated mini PC, test the model at the resolutions and browser you intend to use. Play all three videos simultaneously for a representative period, check for dropped frames or stuttering, and confirm that other expected applications can still run. An Intel N100 mini PC is an example of a low-power category to investigate, not a verified recommendation for this workload.

How much internet speed do three playbacks need?
YouTube Help gives approximate recommended sustained download speeds of 5 Mbps for 1080p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p and 20 Mbps for 4K. Multiplying those per-video recommendations by three gives a starting estimate—not a measured traffic result or a guarantee:

How to compare local and cloud costs for playback
If you already own the PC
Start with the marginal cost: the extra electricity attributable to running the PC and screen, plus any incremental internet or data charges. If the computer would otherwise be off, measure the additional draw while all three intended videos are playing. Do not estimate whole-system consumption from processor TDP or a power-supply rating; use a plug-in wall meter and include any display that must remain on.
For a 30-day month, estimate electricity as (average watts ÷ 1,000) × 720 × local price per kWh. The result is an estimate based on measured average draw and your tariff, not a universal monthly cost.

If you need to buy a PC
Add the purchase price or an explicit amortization period, likely maintenance or replacement costs, electricity and any relevant internet charges. Compare the total with the cloud option rather than comparing only the PC’s electricity bill with a VM’s hourly rate.
If considering cloud playback
Specify the VM or managed service, region, operating hours, output method, transfer volume and who pays for delivery to the viewer. A cloud computer that opens YouTube in a browser does not eliminate the need to send that video output somewhere. No directly comparable cloud-playback tariff is established here, so an exact local-versus-cloud price cannot be stated without those details.

Why continuous YouTube broadcasts cost differently
For a broadcast, compare local measured electricity, hardware ownership and your ISP’s upload and data conditions against hosted compute, outbound transfer and service fees. YouTube publishes separate guidance for outgoing live encoders; its playback speed recommendations above should not be used to size an encoder’s upload requirement. A third-party article by CloudsPress Team, dated August 8, 2026, gives illustrative U.S.-assumption examples of $7.82 per month in electricity for a 60 W local system and $196.06 per month for an AWS t3.medium running one continuous 6 Mbps broadcast. These are the article’s scenario figures, not independently verified quotes, universal current prices or estimates for watching playlists; the page notes that region, electricity tariff, hardware, taxes, storage, IP and other factors change the result. They should not be used to price the three-playback case.
Common pitfalls and checks
- Playback stutters although the speed test looks adequate: Test the three sessions together, use a wired connection if practical, and check whether the machine is decoding all videos smoothly. A per-stream speed recommendation does not guarantee performance under every codec or system load.
- One video reduces quality when others start: Network capacity is shared. Lower one or more resolutions or reduce competing household traffic, then reassess sustained playback.
- A cloud VM looks cheaper on its compute quote: Include the method and cost of delivering the VM’s output, especially outbound traffic, before comparing it with local playback.
- A mini PC’s specifications seem to imply low running cost: Measure the complete system at the wall during the intended workload. Processor TDP and the power-supply label are not whole-PC consumption measurements.
- You are actually sending live feeds to YouTube: Recalculate for upload capacity, encoding settings, cloud compute and egress. Do not apply the playback bandwidth table or the broadcast example as if either were a complete cost quote.
