No supported or announced way to transfer PlayStation 5 QSSR to a Radeon RX 5000 graphics card is documented. Sony has announced QSSR for PS5 games, not Windows PCs. An independent port remains an unanswered hypothetical, not a feature RX 5000 owners can use today.
What Sony has announced about QSSR
Sony describes Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) as an AI upscaling library for PS5, developed from its PSSR work and Project Amethyst collaboration with AMD. Sony says QSSR uses a streamlined neural-network architecture and a hand-tuned implementation intended to maximize performance on PS5. Its announcement describes improved image detail and stability, but gives no numerical performance comparison for Radeon RX 5000 hardware. Sony’s October 1, 2026 announcement names Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as the first PS5 games to offer QSSR as an additional graphics option, and says the library will be offered broadly to PlayStation developers.
That developer availability statement is about PlayStation games; it is not a promise of a PC release or a transfer tool. Insomniac Games’ description of added pixel-level clarity and stability refers to QSSR in Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5, not a Radeon RX 5000 test or compatibility result.
What RX 5000 owners can use on Windows instead
AMD documents two separate upscaling families for PC: Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), a driver-level option, and FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), whose availability depends on the version, game, and feature. Neither is QSSR.

For RSR setup and its conditions, see AMD’s Radeon Super Resolution configuration guide. AMD recommends a game’s built-in FSR when available, because game-specific optimization may produce better results. Check AMD’s FSR technology page and the game’s own settings or support information for the version and features that title supports.

A theoretical third-party port is not the same as a supported transfer. The cited official sources do not establish whether anyone could independently port a related algorithm or build compatible software for RX 5000; they also do not establish that such a port is impossible. There is no documented method, compatibility guarantee, or RX 5000 performance figure to rely on. AMD’s separate RSR and FSR support does not show that QSSR has been ported.

For a PC player, the practical distinction is straightforward: QSSR is announced for PS5 games, while RSR and FSR are AMD’s separately documented PC options. Use the feature supported by the specific game and hardware rather than treating those names as interchangeable.
