Where the tutorial fight happens
The encounter is at Worship’s Rise – Reverent Temple. Speak with the Boatman to begin it. PowerPyx says two small human enemies appear before Bai Kru; be ready to deal with them as part of the approach.
What happens if you win or lose?

The encounter is therefore optional for progression, but not repeatable through ordinary play after a loss, according to these guides. No official developer statement specifically confirming the retry rules or reward was identified.

- Collect the Steamed Bunny Buns on the approach if they are available, then place them in a quickslot. The guide says they heal over time.
- Watch Bai Kru’s attacks and dodge at the right moment instead of attacking continuously.
- Move toward the boss’s side or rear before striking, then limit yourself to one or two quick hits.
- Back away and reset rather than getting greedy. The guide warns that your early-game health is low.
These are guide recommendations, not guarantees; the fight still depends on timing and avoiding damage.
Is this the same Bai Kru fought later?
No. The tutorial encounter is distinct from the later Monstrous Toddler – Bai Kru fight. Insider Gaming distinguishes the tutorial version, which has no trophy, from the later boss encounter, which has its own trophy. Do not assume that reaching the later fight gives you another chance at the tutorial version’s reward.

Do you have to beat Bai Kru to continue?
No. The guides describe the tutorial battle as optional: you may lose and proceed. The practical trade-off is the one-time opportunity to earn five Red Mercury Essence, not a required progression gate. WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers launched on July 24, 2025, according to the official game site.
