Yes. You can mine a soul campfire by hand or with a tool; an axe breaks it fastest. Without Silk Touch, it drops soul soil and any food cooking on it. With Silk Touch, it drops as a soul campfire item. Piston behavior depends on edition: Bedrock pistons can break it when pushing, while Java pistons do not move or break it.
How to break a soul campfire
Target the block and mine it. You can use any tool or your hand, but an axe is the fastest option. The Minecraft Wiki mirror lists a default breaking time of 3 seconds; stronger tool materials can reduce that time, and effects or enchantments may also change how long mining takes. What drops when you break it?
Without Silk Touch, a broken soul campfire drops soul soil. Any food currently cooking on top of it also drops, so breaking the block does not destroy those items. A tool with Silk Touch instead drops the soul campfire itself as an item.
Do pistons break soul campfires?
It depends on the edition. According to the Minecraft Wiki mirror, a piston or sticky piston pushing a soul campfire breaks it in Bedrock Edition. In Java Edition, pistons neither move nor break soul campfires. If a piston-based build depends on this interaction, check the behavior in the specific edition and version you play.
