Official Where Winds Meet guidance reviewed as of October 8, 2026, does not confirm a direct character-deletion option. It does give one specific route: if a character on an account is blocking account linking and you want that data deleted to complete the link, contact customer support at [email protected]. That is not a promise that support will approve a general character wipe.
What to do, depending on your situation

How to link existing progress without creating a conflict
The official Cross-Progression Account Linking Guide, dated November 10, 2025, lists Steam, Epic Games, the official PC launcher, and PlayStation as supported for cross-progression. It gives these routes:

- From the title screen, open User Center → Link Account.
- Alternatively, while in-game, open Settings → Other → User Center → Link Account.
- Link the account that already holds your progress before creating a new character on the other platform.
The same guide warns that if both accounts already have a character, they cannot be linked. If that has happened and you want the conflicting data removed to finish linking, contact support using the address above. The guide does not say support will delete data in every case.
The official Mobile Launch FAQ, dated December 9, 2025, says mobile supports cross-progression and cross-play, including character data, game progress, and purchases. It likewise tells existing PC or console players to link before creating a mobile character, or to log in with their existing account.

Platform and region limits
The official Xbox Launch FAQ, dated June 8, 2026, says character data is shared across Xbox, PC, PlayStation, and mobile through the same bound account. It also says cross-play and cross-progression work only within the same server region; character data cannot be transferred between regions. If you are linking an existing account to Xbox, do not create a character there first.

The official linking guidance explains support-assisted deletion only for the account-linking conflict. It does not confirm whether the current global client has a direct delete-character button, or specify a general account-deletion process, waiting period, recovery window, or effect on linked platforms. Those details can matter if you are considering a full restart, so check the current account-center or in-game support instructions before taking an irreversible action.

A November 2025 third-party guide reported that character deletion was unavailable at the time and described account deletion through the launcher as a way to remove a character. That is historical reporting, not reliable current UI guidance: the game has since launched on additional platforms, and the reviewed official materials do not verify those steps or their consequences. Do not treat uninstalling the game or switching devices as a way to delete account data; official cross-progression guidance describes character data as tied to a bound account.
