Yes—you can download Fortnite on a Dell PC that meets Epic Games’ Windows requirements. The Dell brand or model family alone cannot confirm compatibility: check that computer’s Windows version, processor, RAM and graphics adapter before downloading. Epic lists Fortnite as free to play for Windows on the Epic Games Store.
Check whether your Dell meets Fortnite’s requirements
Epic Games Player Support publishes the following Windows PC specifications. The requirements page has no publication year stated; these figures are Epic’s listed requirements, not performance tests of Dell computers.

Epic says a PC that just meets minimum requirements should run Fortnite, but may not handle the highest settings. Lowering graphics settings and closing background applications can help. The recommended and Epic Quality Presets specifications describe higher hardware targets; they do not guarantee a particular frame rate on a Dell.
Find your Dell’s specifications in Windows
- Select Start, type System Information, and open the app.
- Under System Summary, note the Windows version, processor and installed memory.
- Expand Components, select Display, and note the graphics adapter.
- Compare those details with Epic’s published PC requirements. For two Dell PCs, compare the graphics adapter and VRAM, processor, RAM, Windows version, native installation and—against the recommended specs—storage type.
System Information is more useful than a Dell family name: configurations can differ even among PCs sold under the same product line.

Download Fortnite for Windows
Epic’s Store listing identifies Fortnite for Windows as free to play. To download it, use the Fortnite listing on the Epic Games Store and follow the Store’s installation steps. The Store listing gives the game’s release date as July 21, 2017; that date is not a compatibility requirement.

Epic says Fortnite is not supported on non-native operating systems, including Linux, virtual machines and Windows Parallels installed on a Mac. A Windows installation running in a virtual machine is not equivalent to a supported, natively installed Windows environment.

If your Dell does not meet the PC requirements, Epic points to cloud-streaming options including GeForce NOW and Amazon Luna. Streaming is a separate way to play; it does not install Fortnite locally or make an underpowered PC meet the Windows requirements. Check each service’s current availability in your region.
