Short answer: Third-party tools may change a phone’s reported location without a computer, but Pokémon GO does not permit GPS spoofing. There is no officially supported or risk-free method for using a false location in the game, including on iOS 18. This guide was checked against the cited information on August 18, 2026; compatibility and game rules can change.
What “fake GPS location” means in Pokémon GO
GPS spoofing makes a device or app report a location other than where the player is physically located. In Pokémon GO, that can affect the map, wild Pokémon, PokéStops, Gyms, raids, Routes and distance-based features.
That is different from correcting a drifting GPS signal or using a location simulator for legitimate app testing. It is also different from privacy tools used with apps outside the game. Deliberately reporting a false position to gain an in-game advantage is gameplay spoofing, and Niantic prohibits it.
Does Pokémon GO allow GPS spoofing?
No. Niantic’s Terms of Service prohibit techniques that alter or falsify a device’s location. Its Player Guidelines describe location spoofing as cheating, and Pokémon GO’s violations guidance also identifies falsifying location, emulators, modified or unofficial software, and unauthorized third-party add-ons as violations.

Niantic describes enforcement outcomes that can include warnings, degraded gameplay, suspension or permanent termination, potentially affecting access to multiple Niantic products. The company’s three-strike policy is not a promise that every account gets three warnings before stronger action; Niantic also reserves enforcement rights that may involve action without warning. A cooldown timer, slower movement or supposedly “human-like” play does not make spoofing permitted or establish that it is undetectable.

“Without a PC” describes how a location-changing tool is operated, not whether it is authorized by Niantic or safe for an account.

Tenorshare advertises iAnyGo location-changing products and Pokémon GO use on its official site and compatibility page. These are the vendor’s claims, not evidence of Niantic approval, ongoing functionality or account safety. “No jailbreak” and “no root” describe a setup requirement; neither means “safe.”
Does “supported iOS 18” mean Pokémon GO approves it?
No. It combines three separate claims:
- The phone runs iOS 18. That is an operating-system fact about the device.
- A location-changing product lists iOS 18 compatibility. Tenorshare lists iOS 18 on its iAnyGo iPhone product page and compatibility information. This is the vendor’s compatibility claim.
- Pokémon GO accepts the simulated location without sanctioning the account. The vendor pages do not establish this. Niantic does not endorse GPS spoofing, and a compatibility claim is not proof of safe or lasting operation.
Compatibility can also break after an iOS minor release, a Pokémon GO update or a change to location validation. A tool behaving as expected in Apple Maps or another app does not prove it will work in Pokémon GO. Niantic’s supported-device guidance warns that beta operating systems may not function properly. Check the exact iPhone model, installed OS release, game build and beta status against current official requirements.

iPhone versus Android: neither is a safe route
Android exposes developer options for mock-location testing more openly than iOS, but that convenience does not authorize their use to falsify Pokémon GO location. Android behavior can differ by manufacturer, operating-system version, device-integrity state, root status and security configuration. Rooting or using modified environments can create additional security and app-compatibility problems.
iOS has no general Pokémon GO-approved control for spoofing. Third-party products may rely on proprietary techniques that change over time. Neither platform can be described as undetectable, and no vendor compatibility label removes the account-policy risk.

Risks to understand before considering a third-party tool
- Account action: Niantic may issue a warning, limit gameplay, suspend an account or terminate it. Enforcement is not guaranteed to follow an identical sequence in every case.
- Game and location failures: The avatar may jump, distance may be inaccurate, location may be rejected, or nearby objects may not work as expected. An error such as “location cannot be detected” is not proof that a paid tool will fix the problem permanently.
- Effects on other apps: The phone may continue reporting an altered location beyond Pokémon GO until the location-changing mechanism is stopped or the device is restarted. Check location-dependent apps before relying on them.
- Security and privacy: Unofficial app packages, sideloading services and enterprise certificates can expose a device to malware, credential theft or phishing. A tool may also request device, account or location information; assess its permissions and privacy practices.
- Changing compatibility and charges: A paid subscription may stop working after a game, operating-system or anti-cheat update. Check whether the plan recurs, how cancellation works and what the refund terms cover for your device and OS.
Niantic’s Terms of Service say it may use lawful mechanisms to detect cheating, including checking for exploits, hacking or unauthorized software, and that apps may not work on devices it detects or reasonably suspects of cheating.

This is a risk checklist, not a recommendation to spoof. Do not enter Pokémon GO credentials into an unknown service, and do not install a modified game client. Before paying for any third-party location product, check:

- Whether it truly operates without a computer, or requires a companion desktop app, sideloading service or another setup step.
- Whether it requires jailbreak, root, sideloading or a modified Pokémon GO client.
- Whether the vendor publishes a specific compatibility matrix for your device, OS release and app version.
- Whether the download comes from an identifiable official vendor rather than a mirror or messaging channel.
- Whether pricing is recurring or one-time, and whether the cancellation and refund terms cover your situation.
- What permissions and personal data the product requests, and whether its privacy terms explain their use.
- Whether it promises “undetectable,” “ban-free” or “ban-proof” operation. Such marketing is not a Niantic guarantee.
How to fix Pokémon GO showing the wrong real location
If your avatar is inaccurate because the phone has a weak signal, incorrect permission or a stale location, troubleshoot the phone’s genuine location rather than installing a spoofing tool.
On iPhone
- Close Pokémon GO.
- Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services and confirm Location Services is on.
- Select Pokémon GO and allow the appropriate location permission.
- Reopen the game and allow it to reacquire your position.
- If it remains wrong, restart the iPhone and update Pokémon GO through the App Store.
- If necessary, use Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Location & Privacy. This resets location permissions for apps, so you will need to grant them again.
Apple documents the permission controls and reset option in its Location Services guidance.
On Android
- Close Pokémon GO.
- Open Settings and go to Location or Location Services; confirm location is enabled.
- Open App permissions or App location permissions and give Pokémon GO the required location access.
- Enable precise or high-accuracy location if your phone provides that option.
- In Developer Options, turn off any mock-location app that is selected.
- Confirm the phone has a reliable data connection, then restart Pokémon GO. Restart the device if the avatar remains displaced.
Android menu names vary by manufacturer and software version, so the exact path may differ on Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and other phones.
If the problem continues
Check GPS reception, app permissions, network connectivity and the current supported-device requirements. If Pokémon GO still cannot locate you, contact official Pokémon GO support. Avoid unofficial clients and location-changing services as troubleshooting substitutes.

Legitimate options when you cannot travel or reach a location
- Remote Raid Passes: Use remote participation for eligible raids when the feature is available under the game’s current rules. Availability and limits can change, so check in the app.
- Campfire and community channels: Look for local raid groups, events and meetups through official or trusted community channels.
- Local events: Check for Community Days, other local events and Community Ambassadors in your area.
- Official accessories: Pokémon GO Plus + and other official accessories can reduce the need to hold the phone while playing; they do not change your location.
- Routes and accessibility: Plan a route that fits your needs and check what accessibility options or accommodations are available locally.
- Incorrect or unsafe map points: Use the game’s official reporting or review process for a PokéStop or Gym that is misplaced or unsafe.
- Account or GPS issues: Contact Pokémon GO support rather than installing an unofficial client.
