Yes. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available to stream through NVIDIA GeForce NOW; NVIDIA announced its arrival on March 20, 2025. GeForce NOW runs the supported PC version on remote hardware, so you need access to that PC game through a compatible storefront or eligible subscription, as well as a GeForce NOW access option. A PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch 2 copy does not by itself grant a PC license.
What GeForce NOW does—and what it does not include
GeForce NOW streams a game running on NVIDIA’s remote hardware to your device. Your computer, phone, or TV acts as the client: it displays the stream and sends your controller or keyboard and mouse input back to the server. That means a device that cannot run Shadows locally may still be able to stream it, but network quality becomes part of the experience.
The cloud-gaming membership and access to the game are separate considerations. NVIDIA describes GeForce NOW as connecting supported game stores and libraries so members can stream games they own or can access through an eligible integration. Check NVIDIA’s service overview and current game library for live support and availability.
Which version and account do you need?
GeForce NOW streams a supported PC version; it does not convert a console license into a PC entitlement. Ubisoft lists the Windows PC game through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The account used to launch the game must have the relevant entitlement, and the storefront option shown in GeForce NOW must match it. Availability may vary by region and can change, so check the live listing before buying.

How to launch Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Create or sign in to your NVIDIA account, then choose an available GeForce NOW access option. A free or trial option may be available, but terms and availability vary.

Open the GeForce NOW app on a supported device, or use a supported browser, and sign in.

Search for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and select the storefront or launcher version that matches your entitlement.

When prompted, sign in to the matching Ubisoft, Steam, or Epic account. For Ubisoft Connect, confirm that the game appears in that account’s library.

If you use Ubisoft Connect, link the correct Ubisoft account to NVIDIA and use the available library synchronization option. Follow NVIDIA’s account-linking instructions.

Supported devices and controller needs
NVIDIA lists support across categories that include Windows PCs, Macs, ChromeOS devices, supported Linux setups or browsers, Android devices, iPhone and iPad through supported methods, handhelds such as Steam Deck, NVIDIA SHIELD, and compatible smart TVs and streaming devices. Support depends on the device, operating system, app or browser, and country; consult NVIDIA’s system requirements for the current details.
- TV: Use a supported gamepad for gameplay. Keyboard and mouse use on supported TVs is generally limited to navigation.
- iPhone and iPad: A supported gamepad is required for gameplay.
- Other devices: Confirm the specific device and input method are supported; a broad category listing does not guarantee compatibility for every model or setup.
Internet requirements and stream quality
NVIDIA’s published service guidance specifies these connection speeds for the listed streaming targets. They are service-level requirements, not a guarantee of a particular Shadows frame rate or image quality.

NVIDIA recommends Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi and latency below 80 ms to an NVIDIA data center. For a more reliable connection, run the in-app network test, use Ethernet where practical, or use 5 GHz Wi-Fi near the router. Pause large downloads, cloud backups, and other bandwidth-heavy activity while playing. Download speed alone does not tell the whole story: latency, packet loss, Wi-Fi interference, distance to a data center, and ISP routing can all affect responsiveness.
Because the game is rendered remotely and delivered as compressed video, unstable Wi-Fi or packet loss can reduce image quality or make input feel delayed. That may be more noticeable during combat or stealth timing than while navigating menus. NVIDIA advertises higher resolutions and frame rates on supported memberships and devices, but those service capabilities are not a guarantee of a fixed resolution, graphics preset, or frame rate for Shadows.
Choosing a GeForce NOW membership
You do not need the highest tier simply to launch the game. NVIDIA’s membership options and terms can change, so check the current membership page for prices, queues, session limits, and availability in your region.

- Free or entry access: A practical way to check whether your device and connection work, subject to the current access rules and any queues or session limits.
- Performance or other premium access: Consider it for regular play if its current session and performance terms suit your display and usage.
- Ultimate: Worth considering if you want the highest supported performance class or have a compatible high-refresh or high-resolution display. It is not a requirement for playing the game.
- Day Pass: NVIDIA advertises a 24-hour option; check whether it is currently offered in your region and review its terms before choosing it for a short trial.
Saves, progress, and account mismatches
NVIDIA says GeForce NOW synchronizes saves with connected digital-store accounts, including Ubisoft, Steam, and Epic. Save behavior also depends on the game and launcher. Use the same storefront and account consistently, and wait for synchronization to finish before closing a session. Switching storefronts should not be assumed to carry progress across automatically, and console-to-PC save transfer is not established here. NVIDIA’s saved-games support page explains its general cloud-save handling.
If the game is missing from My Library
- Check that GeForce NOW is linked to the Ubisoft account that actually owns or can access the game.
- For Steam or Epic, verify the signed-in account and that it has the PC entitlement.
- Use the account or library synchronization option, then search for the standalone game listing instead of relying only on My Library.
- Sign out of and back into the relevant launcher account, and make sure you selected the matching storefront version.
- Check regional availability and whether the service or launcher is temporarily having an issue.
- Do not buy the game again until you have resolved which account owns the entitlement.

GeForce NOW, local PC play, or a native Mac version?
GeForce NOW is a good fit if you have the PC entitlement, a supported client device, and a stable low-latency connection, but lack hardware to run the game locally. It avoids a demanding local installation and can let you play across supported devices. In exchange, you depend on internet access and accept the possibility of stream compression or input latency.
Local PC play is preferable if your computer can run the game and you want more predictable offline access, no streaming artifacts, or greater control over local files and mods. A compatible Apple-silicon Mac owner can also consider Ubisoft’s separate native Mac App Store version; check its requirements and entitlement separately. Ubisoft lists Amazon Luna as another availability route, but its catalog, subscription terms, and regional support should be checked directly before comparing it with GeForce NOW.
