God of War Sons of Sparta has not been announced as a native PC release by Sony. Sony lists it for PlayStation 5, but an October 4, 2026 community post reports running its PS5 build on Windows through the AnyPS5 compatibility project, at around 60 FPS on one PC. That is an unofficial, limited compatibility report—not a PC launch or a verified performance benchmark.
Is God of War Sons of Sparta officially available on PC?
No native PC release is listed in Sony’s reviewed materials. Sony lists God of War Sons of Sparta for PS5, with a release date of February 12, 2026. Its official announcement and support information do not announce a Windows version. The reported PC run is a community compatibility effort, not an official launch. What the reported 60 FPS result actually means
In a post dated October 4, 2026, Reddit user OverkillLabs said a PS5 release build ran on Windows using AnyPS5. The poster described the game code running directly on the CPU while the project reimplements missing PS5 system libraries and GPU functions—a compatibility-layer approach the post likens to Wine and DXVK. The reported result was “Around 60 FPS on my machine (5800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti).” The community post also says keyboard, mouse, and controller input work.
That figure is one poster’s result on a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, not an independently measured benchmark or an official specification. It does not establish performance on other hardware, a broad GPU recommendation, or a guarantee of 60 FPS. The post reports testing only on NVIDIA hardware and game version 01.008.001.

What game Sony released for PS5
Sony describes Sons of Sparta as a canon 2D action platformer about Kratos’ youth and his Spartan training at the Agoge alongside his brother Deimos. Mega Cat Studios partnered on the game, and Sony says the writing team is from Santa Monica Studio. Sony’s support page describes a single-player story campaign and The Pit, an end-game roguelite challenge that unlocks after the main campaign.
