Yes—Delta supports online play for Nintendo DS games that are compatible with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (WFC). It connects through community-hosted WFC servers, not a network operated by Delta, and support depends on the game and the online feature you want to use.
How Delta’s DS online multiplayer works
Delta 1.7 added online play for compatible Nintendo DS games when it launched on March 31, 2025. Its release notes name Wiimmfi and WiiLink WFC; Delta’s App Store listing also names AltWFC. Delta lets you select a listed server or enter a custom DNS address. The official materials do not rank these servers by reliability, uptime, safety, or game compatibility, so check the server’s current documentation for the game you want to play.

The feature is not a way to turn every DS game’s local multiplayer into online multiplayer. The game itself must support online play through WFC, and the particular mode or service you want to use must still work on the chosen server.
Set up online play in Delta
- Open a DS game with an online WFC feature and enter that feature. On the first connection, Delta should prompt you to choose a WFC server or enter a custom DNS.
- Select a server or enter its DNS, then restart the game as prompted.
- To change the selection later, open Delta Settings > Core Settings (Nintendo DS) > WFC Server.
Changing servers may require you to register friend codes again. If you use BIOS files, Delta’s FAQ says you may need to erase the game’s Nintendo WFC configuration before connecting with the new setup.

If Delta DS online play will not connect
Work through the likely causes one at a time; no single workaround is guaranteed. Delta’s FAQ lists DNS, connection, maintenance, disconnection, same-Wi-Fi, and server-ban or firmware-related errors.
- Check the server setting. Confirm that a WFC server is selected in Delta’s Nintendo DS core settings, or that your custom DNS entry is correct. Check the chosen server’s own instructions and current status.
- Reset the game’s WFC setup. Use the game’s in-game option to erase or reset its Nintendo WFC configuration, then configure the connection again. Delta notes this may be necessary for users with BIOS files.
- Try a different network. Delta warns that two devices on the same Wi-Fi may fail to connect to each other. Try cellular data or another Wi-Fi network rather than assuming the game or server is at fault.
- Temporarily disable a VPN or proxy. Either can interfere with some servers. If the connection works without it, the VPN or proxy is likely part of the problem.
- Check for a server-side issue or restriction. Maintenance, server rules, or a ban can prevent a connection even when Delta is configured correctly. Consult the server operator’s current guidance for the error you see.
What you need—and what you do not
You need a game with an online-compatible WFC feature and a working network connection. Delta’s online-play instructions do not require a Bluetooth controller; its App Store listing describes Bluetooth controllers as supported, so one is optional. Delta also requires game files to play, but its importing-games FAQ does not establish that any particular accessory or tool is necessary for online multiplayer.
