Yes. Three people can play Overcooked together: both Overcooked! All You Can Eat and Overcooked! 2 support up to four players. The key is choosing the right edition and checking how your group will connect—especially for online play across different platforms.
Which Overcooked games support three players?

Is Overcooked! All You Can Eat the best choice for online cross-platform play?
It is the clearest publisher-documented option if your three-player group needs online cross-platform play. Team17 describes All You Can Eat as supporting online cross-platform multiplayer. That does not mean you can mix editions: everyone in the session needs All You Can Eat, and an Overcooked! 2 copy is not compatible with an All You Can Eat session.

In All You Can Eat, Team17 says Arcade mode offers matchmaking or private play, while the campaign requires you to invite friends. Choose the mode that fits how your group wants to connect.
How does Overcooked! 2 multiplayer work?
Overcooked! 2 supports up to four people either locally or online. If you plan to play online with friends on other systems, check Team17’s cross-play guidance for your platforms and versions first. The available guidance includes platform- and version-specific conditions, so the four-player limit alone does not guarantee that every combination can connect.

How do three people play locally?
Local setup varies by platform. On a compatible TV, Netflix’s cloud version allows up to four people on one device: the host starts the game on the TV, and additional players join using the Netflix app on phones or tablets. They scan the on-screen QR code to use their devices as controllers. Netflix says each joining device counts as a separate player, with the host included in the four-player total. For other platforms, follow that platform’s controller and local multiplayer setup. The player-count information does not specify how many separate controllers a particular console or edition requires.

Do you need PlayStation Plus to play online?
The PlayStation Store listing says PlayStation Plus is required for online play and lists online play as optional, with up to four online players. This is a PlayStation-specific requirement; check the relevant store listing for subscription requirements on other platforms. PlayStation Store listing.
What should your group check before playing?
- Local or online: Decide whether everyone will share one device or connect remotely.
- Platform mix: If you are playing online across systems, verify that your exact platforms and versions are compatible.
- Edition: For All You Can Eat online sessions, every player needs that edition; Overcooked! 2 does not join those sessions.
- Setup and subscriptions: Check the local controller method for your device and any platform-specific online-play requirements.
Can you buy a physical copy?
Team17’s All You Can Eat FAQ names physical versions for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X, and says there is no physical version for Xbox One. Retail stock and regional availability can change, so check current listings before buying.
