No. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are Nintendo DS games, and neither is listed in Nintendo’s current Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics catalog for Switch. A Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership does not provide access to these two games through that catalog.
Why HeartGold and SoulSilver aren’t on Switch
Pokémon HeartGold Version is a Nintendo DS release. Nintendo’s official HeartGold manual identifies it as based on Pokémon Gold Version for Game Boy and describes Nintendo DS wireless communications. SoulSilver is likewise a Nintendo DS title, but the official Switch classic-game catalog does not list either game.

The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership includes access to selected Game Boy Advance games through the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics app. That is a separate catalog, not a way to play every older Pokémon game. Nintendo’s GBA Nintendo Classics listing does not include HeartGold or SoulSilver. Nintendo’s Nintendo Switch Online membership FAQ describes the classic-game apps and membership tiers; it does not list these DS games as Switch classics.
Ways to play the games
| Option | Are HeartGold and SoulSilver available? | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|
| Original Nintendo DS editions | Yes | The direct documented route is the original DS game on compatible Nintendo DS-family hardware. Check the game version, listing condition, and compatibility with your system before buying. |
| Switch Online + Expansion Pack | No, not in the listed GBA Nintendo Classics catalog | The membership provides access to selected GBA classics, but neither DS game appears in the catalog listing. |
What to check before buying a DS copy
- Confirm that the listing is for Pokémon HeartGold or Pokémon SoulSilver for Nintendo DS, rather than a different Pokémon game or a listing that only refers to a case or accessory.
- Check the seller’s description and photos for the game’s condition and what is included.
- Verify compatibility with your specific DS-family system. Nintendo’s manual confirms the DS platform, but the available official information does not establish a model-by-model compatibility matrix for every system.
Current stock and seller availability can change, so confirm those details with the seller before purchasing.
