The exact method depends on the controller: paddle designs differ across brands and models.
How to remove AIMController paddles
AIMControllers’ AIMPaddles removal tutorial, published February 23, 2022, shows the latch-and-cap release method.
- Locate the paddle cap and its latch on the back of the controller.
- Press the latch while twisting the cap at the same time.
- Once the cap unlocks, remove or adjust the paddles as needed.
The tutorial says a sharp tool may help, but does not specify a tool. Avoid prying or forcing the cap. If it does not release with the described motion, stop and check the instructions for your exact model or contact AIMControllers; the tutorial does not establish that the same steps apply to every revision.
Removal methods vary by controller

Can you replace a missing or damaged AIM paddle?
AIMControllers lists PS5 V4 AIM Back Pro replacement paddles. The product page says they fit official AIMControllers Back Pro models and directly replace V3 paddles. They are not stated to fit a standard DualSense or other third-party controllers. AIMControllers’ US accessories listing likewise identifies them for Back Pro models only.

Check your model before removing paddles
“AIM paddles” can refer to AIMControllers’ AIMPaddles, but it can also mean paddles on another controller. Confirm the brand and model before following a removal guide: the Xbox Elite pull-out method, the AIMControllers latch-and-twist method, and SCUF’s model-specific designs are not interchangeable. AIMControllers’ PS5 AIMController product page describes removable back paddles and lists compatibility with PS5 and PC.
