A recent article describes the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s “hidden feature” as running two Pokémon GO apps in parallel. That is an app-cloning claim, not a capability established by Google’s published Pixel instructions. Those instructions cover split-screen multitasking and, separately, a Private Space that can hold another app installation. The available sources do not confirm that Pokémon GO can run as two simultaneously usable instances on this phone.
What the reported “hidden feature” means
The phrase comes from a recent article describing “two Pokémon Go apps in parallel” on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. In practical terms, that means app cloning: having two copies of one app, potentially with separate sign-ins or data. Google’s published Pixel guidance does not establish a built-in Pixel feature that clones Pokémon GO or confirms that two game instances can run at the same time. The report describes the trick, but that alone does not verify compatibility or simultaneous use.
What the Pixel’s documented options actually do
| Option | What it does | Does it establish two Pokémon GO instances? |
|---|---|---|
| Split screen | Shows two different apps at once on a Pixel Fold. | No. Google’s instructions describe choosing a different second app, not duplicating the first. |
| Bubbles | Opens an app in a small floating window. | No. This is another way to multitask, not documentation of app cloning. |
| Private Space | Can hold a separate app installation with separate app data. | Not established. Google’s community answer does not verify Pokémon GO installation or simultaneous operation. |
Split screen: two apps side by side
Google’s Pixel Fold help explains how to use two apps at once: open one app, then choose a different second app from the taskbar, overview, or app list. This can be useful if you want Pokémon GO visible alongside another app, but it is not a documented way to launch a second copy of Pokémon GO. Google’s Pixel Fold split-screen instructions cover multitasking between apps.
Bubbles: a floating window
Google says bubbles open an app in a small floating window. Its Pixel support page identifies the feature as available on Pixel phones, including Fold, running Android 17. Bubbles change how an app appears while multitasking; the documentation does not say they duplicate an app or let Pokémon GO run twice. Google’s Android 17 bubbles guidance explains the feature.

Private Space: a separate app installation
A Google Pixel Community answer dated August 21, 2026, says Private Space on Android 15 and later can install a separate instance of an app with its own data. The described route is Settings > Security & privacy > Private space: set up Private Space, then use + Install inside it. This describes how to create a separate installation, but does not confirm that Pokémon GO can be installed there or that two copies can operate simultaneously. Read the Pixel Community answer.
What is and is not confirmed for Pokémon GO
The available Google and Pokémon GO sources do not verify that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold can run two simultaneously usable Pokémon GO instances. Private Space is the closest documented option to a separate app installation, but Pokémon GO compatibility and concurrent operation remain unconfirmed. Treat the two-app claim as reported, not as an officially documented Pixel feature.

Do not confuse this with Pokémon GO’s Explorer Gadget
The Explorer Gadget is a separate Pokémon GO feature, not an Android app-cloning tool. Pokémon GO’s announcement says Trainers at level 20 and higher can use it to attempt catches with regular Poké Balls and spin PokéStops while the game is not actively open. Activity capacity is tied to Trainer level, and the feature is entering a phased rollout, with availability to be shared later. A paired accessory and the Explorer Gadget cannot be active at the same time. Pokémon GO’s Explorer Gadget announcement gives the feature details.
Pokémon GO also documents play with physical accessories such as Poké Ball Plus; that is a separate accessory feature, not evidence of app cloning. Pokémon Support’s accessory guide was updated January 30, 2026.
