Yes. Sans appears in Deltarune, and Kris first meets him in Chapter 1 in Hometown, outside his store. He also appears in later chapters.
Where do you find Sans in Deltarune?
Chapter 1: Hometown
After Kris returns from the Card Kingdom, look for Sans outside his store in Hometown and speak with him. He introduces himself: “the name’s sans. sans the skeleton. i’m new in town.” The Deltarune Wiki’s Sans entry documents the encounter; its screenshot record identifies the image as Sans introducing himself to Kris in Chapter 1.
Chapter 2: the grocery store
After Kris returns from the Cyber World, they can enter Sans’s grocery store and talk with him. The scene includes Sans and Toriel trading egg puns before Asgore interrupts, according to the Deltarune Wiki.
Chapters 4 and 5
The same community-maintained wiki documents further Sans appearances in Chapters 4 and 5. Those chapter details are secondary-source summaries; the official Deltarune page confirms the game’s current chapter availability but does not provide this scene-by-scene account.

Which chapters are available?
As of October 8, 2026, the official Deltarune page lists Chapters 1–5 as available, with more planned as free updates. It also names Sans among the familiar characters. Chapter availability can change as updates are released, so check the official page for the current status.
Does this mean Deltarune’s Sans is the same as Undertale’s?
The appearances establish Sans as a returning character in Deltarune, but they do not by themselves settle theories about how this version relates to the Sans in Undertale. The scenes described here show where he appears in Deltarune; they are not proof of a particular explanation for the two games’ relationship.
