No. Rockstar does not support transferring a GTA Online profile or progress from an Xbox console to a PC. Linking your Xbox and Rockstar Games accounts can authenticate you, but it does not copy your character, rank, properties, vehicles, achievements, or other progress to PC.
Xbox-to-PC GTA progress migration is not supported
Rockstar’s character-transfer guidance, last updated January 29, 2025, states: “Profiles cannot be migrated between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S or from PlayStation or Xbox console families to PC.” Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S are part of the Xbox console family, while PC is a separate platform family.
That means there is no official process that imports an Xbox GTA Online character into the PC version. Your Xbox profile remains available on Xbox, but a PC copy of Grand Theft Auto Online starts without that console profile’s progress.
What account linking does—and does not do
Linking an Xbox account to Rockstar
Rockstar’s Xbox-linking instructions use the Rockstar Games account’s Connections page and the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox account. This connects identities for sign-in and account services; it is not a save migration.

Using the Xbox app on PC
Rockstar also documents linking a Rockstar Games account to an Xbox account for Rockstar titles delivered through the Xbox app on PC. That connection helps authenticate the PC installation. It does not make the Xbox-console GTA Online profile available on PC.
Cloud saves are not a workaround
Neither account linking nor cloud synchronization changes Rockstar’s platform-family migration rule. Do not pay a third party that claims it can convert or move an Xbox GTA Online profile to PC.

What happens if you move to PC?
You can purchase and play the PC edition, sign in with a Rockstar Games account, and create a new PC GTA Online profile. Rockstar’s published transfer guidance does not say that buying a PC edition recreates or imports Xbox progress, so plan on starting over on PC.
PC multiplayer is also separate from console multiplayer. Rockstar states that “Players on PC cannot play with players on console.” Linking the same Rockstar account therefore does not let a PC player join Xbox-console GTA Online sessions.

The console upgrade that Rockstar does support
If you meant moving within the Xbox console family rather than moving to PC, Rockstar supports migration from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S for eligible Story Mode and GTA Online progress. The same guidance says profiles cannot be migrated between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Use Rockstar’s current Grand Theft Auto Online Character Transfers instructions when moving from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. A supported console migration is different from an Xbox-to-PC transfer and remains subject to Rockstar’s eligibility checks.

GTA$ rules during an eligible migration
Currency rules apply only when Rockstar allows the profile migration in the first place; they do not create an Xbox-to-PC route.

These policies concern eligible migrations such as supported console upgrades or PC-version changes. They do not transfer Xbox-console progress to PC.

If a supported Xbox migration is rejected
For Xbox One-to-Xbox Series X|S migrations, Rockstar’s save-migration support identifies several possible causes of an ineligibility or migration error:
- The account is banned or suspended.
- The profile has already been migrated.
- The profile contains illegitimate progress.
- The profile does not have sufficient progress for the migration requirement.
Those checks are relevant to a supported console migration. They do not indicate that an Xbox-to-PC transfer can be enabled by troubleshooting.
Practical next steps
- Decide whether you are upgrading consoles or changing platform families. Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S can be eligible; Xbox to PC is not supported.
- If you are moving to PC, install the PC version and sign in. Use your Rockstar Games account for authentication, but expect to create a separate PC GTA Online profile.
- Link accounts only through Rockstar’s official account settings. Open your Rockstar Games account, go to Settings and Connections, then follow the Microsoft/Xbox sign-in prompts if you need the accounts linked.
- Do not provide credentials to transfer services. Rockstar’s official support material supplies no third-party transfer route, and handing over an account can put it at risk.
- For a console upgrade, follow Rockstar’s migration prompts. Check the current eligibility requirements before attempting the Xbox One-to-Xbox Series X|S migration.
Bottom line for your Xbox character
Your Xbox GTA Online character, rank, money, properties, vehicles, and other progress cannot be transferred to PC under Rockstar’s current policy. You can link the accounts for sign-in and start a new PC profile, or use the supported Xbox One-to-Xbox Series X|S migration if that is the upgrade you intended.
