What an approved appeal does—and does not—confirm
YouTube Help says that if it finds appealed content followed its Community Guidelines, it will reinstate the content and remove the strike. If the content follows the guidelines but is not suitable for all audiences, YouTube may reinstate it with an age restriction instead. A strike may be appealed once.
The appeal guidance describes the outcome for the appealed content and strike; it does not expressly guarantee that every successful appeal automatically restores live-streaming access or clears a separate restriction. The channel’s current status in YouTube Studio and the restriction notice are the practical checks that matter.

Check these live-stream requirements
- No recent live-streaming restriction: YouTube’s baseline guidance requires that the channel have had no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days.
- Channel verification: The channel must be verified.
- Age: The person live streaming must be at least 16 years old.
- Method-specific requirements: YouTube notes that other ways of streaming may have additional requirements.

How to verify your channel’s status
- Read the appeal result email. Confirm whether YouTube reinstated the content and removed the strike, or reinstated it with an age restriction.
- Open YouTube Studio and check Channel violations. Look for the appealed strike and any other active Community Guidelines action.
- Check live-stream access and restriction notices. Review the notice or email about the live-stream restriction, including any instructions or appeal option shown there.
- Confirm the basic eligibility requirements. Verify the channel, confirm the age requirement is met, and check whether any live-streaming restriction falls within the preceding 90 days.
- Check the streaming method. If you use a particular device, app, or other method, make sure its additional requirements are satisfied.
YouTube’s account-specific display is the best way to determine whether your channel can stream; a general help article cannot confirm the status of an individual account.

If live streaming is still disabled
A successful appeal may remove the appealed strike without resolving a different or independent limit on live streaming. YouTube identifies policy and copyright-related reasons for disabling live-stream access, and a strike on an active or archived stream may also affect access.
- Use the appeal instructions in the live-stream restriction notice if you believe that restriction is incorrect.
- Check for separate copyright or policy restrictions, rather than assuming the appealed action was the only cause.
- Do not try to livestream through another channel while the restriction is active. YouTube prohibits using another channel to evade a restriction and says circumvention may result in termination.

Keep the next stream within YouTube’s rules
Before you go live, make sure the stream and any material in it comply with YouTube’s policies, and check that no separate restriction is active. An appeal decision about one item does not authorize content that violates a different rule or remove unrelated account limitations.
