Roblox works on some Amazon Fire tablets, not all of them. First check the tablet’s exact model and generation. Roblox currently lists the Fire 7 (9th generation or newer), Fire HD 8 (8th generation or newer), Fire HD 10 (9th generation or newer), and Fire Max 11 (13th generation or newer) as its minimum supported Fire devices. On an Amazon Kids tablet, install or update Roblox from the Parent Profile, then share it with the child profile.
1. Check whether your Fire tablet is supported
“Fire tablet” is a product family, not one specification. A Fire HD 8 from an older generation may have a different operating system and hardware from a newer Fire HD 8.

These are Roblox’s current Fire-tablet minimums, not a promise that every Roblox experience will run. Roblox also lists Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support for Android devices. See the official Roblox mobile requirements.
Find the model, generation, and Fire OS version
- Open Settings.
- Choose Device Options, Device, or System (the label varies by Fire OS).
- Open About Fire Tablet or About.
- Record the model name, generation, and Fire OS version.
Roblox’s own path is swipe down → More → Device → About. Amazon’s Fire-device list can help match a model to its generation and Android API level.

If the tablet is older than the table—for example, many 5th-generation models running Fire OS 5—the Appstore may correctly mark Roblox incompatible. No cache reset or factory reset can add the missing hardware or operating-system support.
2. Install Roblox from the correct profile
Regular Fire tablet
- Switch to the Adult or Parent profile.
- Open the Amazon Appstore.
- Search for Roblox.
- Tap Get, Download, or Install.
- Open Roblox after installation and sign in.
The Amazon Appstore is the supported installation route for Fire tablets. Amazon filters apps using requirements such as operating-system version, architecture, hardware features, and the developer’s device targeting. If Roblox is absent or labeled incompatible, that is usually compatibility filtering rather than a temporary download error. See Amazon’s device-filtering guidance.
Amazon Kids tablet or child profile
A child profile generally cannot install or update apps independently. Use this workflow:

- Switch to the Parent Profile.
- Install Roblox from the Amazon Appstore.
- Open the family or child-profile settings.
- Choose Add Content or Add Apps, Games, and Videos.
- Select Roblox and confirm.
- Return to the child profile.
Amazon’s Kids-tablet guidance follows this parent-install-and-share process. Parental controls can also block downloads or require the parent password; check Amazon’s parental-control help.

3. Fix a supported tablet that will not download
Work through these steps in order. Menu names differ between Fire OS versions.
Check storage
Go to Settings → Storage. Delete unused games, videos, screenshots, or downloads, then restart and retry. Roblox’s required free space can change, so do not rely on an old fixed number.
Test the connection
Toggle Wi-Fi off and on, try another network or hotspot, and restart the router if other Appstore downloads also fail. Roblox gives approximately 4–8 Mb/s as general internet guidance and recommends Wi-Fi for stability. Confirm that the tablet’s date and time are correct.
Update Fire OS
- Open Settings.
- Choose Device Options or System.
- Tap System Updates or Software Updates.
- Install available updates and restart.
Then open the Appstore and check Roblox again. Roblox recommends using the latest available operating system before downloading its mobile app.

Clear the Amazon Appstore cache
- Open Settings.
- Go to Apps or Apps & Notifications.
- Choose Manage All Applications.
- Select Amazon Appstore.
- Open Storage and tap Clear Cache.
- Restart the tablet and try again.
Amazon staff have also suggested retrying after toggling Wi-Fi and repeating content sharing for Kids profiles. Cache clearing can repair a stuck store; it cannot make an unsupported model compatible.
4. If Roblox is installed but missing from the child profile
Confirm that Roblox was installed under the Parent Profile, explicitly shared with the child, and allowed by the child’s content settings. Keep the child profile online so it can synchronize. If the app disappeared, remove it from the child profile and add it again before considering a reset.
5. Fix Roblox update or launch failures
When a Kids profile says updating is blocked, switch to the Adult/Parent profile and update Roblox there. If the app is corrupted or will not open:

- Restart the tablet.
- Reinstall Roblox from the official Amazon Appstore listing.
- Share it with the child profile again, if needed.
Roblox recommends uninstalling and reinstalling for corrupted app data. Avoid random APK sites. Sideloaded Google Play or APK copies may lack Google Play services, fail integrity checks, update unreliably, and complicate parental controls. Roblox recommends trusted official stores, including the Amazon Appstore.

6. Roblox installs but a game will not play
Installation support and gameplay support are different. A supported Fire tablet can still show “device not supported,” perform poorly, or fail to load a particular experience because of graphics demands, outdated or modified software, or an experience-specific security requirement.
Roblox’s remote-attestation guidance says Amazon Fire devices are not expected to satisfy certain stricter security checks. This affects experiences that use those checks; it does not mean Roblox cannot install on every Fire tablet. Try another experience and, if possible, a supported non-Fire device. If only one experience fails, the problem may be specific to that experience.

If your model is below Roblox’s minimum generation, replacement or another device is the realistic answer. Consider a newer Fire model, a standard Android tablet meeting Roblox’s Android requirements, an iPadOS device on Roblox’s supported list, Windows PC, or Xbox. A newer Fire tablet is not a guarantee for every security-checked experience, so choose based on the games your household actually needs.

Regional and marketplace issues
App availability can vary by Amazon marketplace and country. If a supported tablet still cannot find Roblox after the profile, update, cache, and network checks, verify the Amazon account’s marketplace and local availability. Amazon documents regional Appstore distribution here.
Quick diagnosis
- Roblox is absent: identify the generation first; an old model is the leading explanation.
- Get is blocked: use the Parent Profile and review parental controls.
- Download fails: check storage, Wi-Fi, updates, cache, and restart.
- Update is blocked in Kids: update from the Adult profile.
- App opens but one game fails: investigate performance or experience-specific security checks.
Frequently asked questions
Can Roblox run on a Fire 7?
Roblox officially lists Fire 7 devices from the 9th generation onward. Earlier Fire 7 generations may be filtered as incompatible.
Can a child install Roblox without the parent?
Usually not on an Amazon Kids profile. The parent installs it in the Parent Profile and shares it with the child profile.
Why is Roblox missing from the Appstore?
The tablet may be below Roblox’s minimum generation, running an old Fire OS, subject to marketplace availability, or viewed through a restricted profile.
Does Amazon Kids+ include Roblox?
No. Kids+ is a separate premium content service. Roblox availability still depends on the app, device, profile permissions, and marketplace.
Will a factory reset fix Roblox?
Only rarely. It may clear a damaged local setup, but it cannot fix an unsupported tablet, compatibility filtering, or a Roblox security limitation.
