Capcom released MEGA MAN X for Android on February 9, 2023, bringing a mobile port of the original 1993 Super Nintendo action-platformer to Google Play after the game had already appeared on iOS. It is a paid, single-player adaptation—not a remake and not Mega Man X DiVE Offline.
As checked on August 18, 2026, the official U.S. Google Play listing still showed the Capcom app at $9.99, with roughly 3.6 stars, more than 10,000 downloads, and an October 15, 2025 update. Prices, ratings and availability can vary by country and device. View the official Google Play listing.
What launched on Android?
This is the original Mega Man X campaign adapted for modern phones. The SNES game debuted in 1993, introducing X, Zero, armor upgrades and the series’ distinctive dash-and-wall-jump movement. The Android release arrived roughly a decade after the mobile version first appeared on iOS, according to contemporary reports from Phandroid and Wccftech.
Although the 2023 launch is now historical, the app remains listed on Google Play. Capcom identifies itself as the developer, and the store page says the October 15, 2025 update fixed various system-related issues.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android.You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What the Android version includes
Capcom’s listing describes a powered-up mobile port with presentation, difficulty and replay features beyond the original cartridge release:
- Optimized graphics: visuals adjusted for modern mobile displays.
- Three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard.
- Two display modes: Regular preserves the original aspect ratio, while Full fills the phone’s screen.
- Ranking modes: Score Attack, Time Race and Endless provide repeatable challenges.
- Customization and support options: features include Full Armor and All Weapons.
- Arranged music: the soundtrack includes rearranged versions of the background music.
- Touch controls: play is designed around on-screen buttons.
The listing advertises a single purchase rather than a subscription or free-to-play structure. The extra systems make the game more approachable and replayable, but they also mean this is not simply an untouched SNES image running on a phone.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
How faithful is it to the SNES original?
The underlying game is recognizably Mega Man X, but “bit-perfect” would be an inaccurate description. The display has been adapted for phones, the soundtrack can use arranged versions, and the Android edition adds difficulty, ranking and assistance features that were not part of the original SNES presentation.
Contemporary coverage also reported at least one mechanical difference: some interactions in which earlier actions influenced later boss encounters were removed. That makes the port a modified adaptation rather than a definitive replacement for the original hardware version. Players seeking the exact 1993 ruleset should treat the Android app as a separate release with added conveniences and changes.

Controls and device compatibility
The game uses touchscreen controls, which is the most important practical consideration before buying. Contemporary launch coverage did not announce Bluetooth or other external-gamepad support, and the current Google Play listing does not promise it. User reviews continue to include complaints about physical-controller support, but those are individual reports rather than an official compatibility statement.
Check Capcom’s supported-device information at Capcom’s MEGA MAN X app page before purchasing. Google Play may allow an app to be bought or installed on a device outside Capcom’s supported list, yet Capcom warns that it may not function correctly there. This matters especially for newer Android phones, tablets, gaming handhelds and hardware with unusual input systems.

Some reviews describe a black screen on a particular Android gaming handheld and a perceived 30-fps limit. These are anecdotal, device-specific observations, not universally verified defects. If the game launches incorrectly, first compare the device with Capcom’s support list and then use the store’s support or refund process rather than assuming the problem affects every Android device.

MEGA MAN X versus Mega Man X DiVE Offline
The names are easy to confuse, but these are different games with different purposes:
| Game | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MEGA MAN X (Android) | Mobile port of the 1993 side-scrolling action-platformer, with added difficulty, rankings, display options and support features. | Players who want the classic X campaign in an official, self-contained mobile release. |
| Mega Man X DiVE Offline | A separate action/RPG-style game using characters, weapons, upgrades and stages from across the Mega Man series. It is not the original X campaign. | Players interested in broader franchise fan service and progression systems. |
DiVE Offline received its own Android, iOS and PC release in 2023; contemporary details are reported by WorthPlaying. Do not buy it expecting the SNES game.
Who should buy the Android port?
It makes sense if you:
- want an officially licensed Android version of the original Mega Man X;
- prefer a one-time purchase over free-to-play monetization;
- value Easy mode, rankings, alternate display modes, arranged music or assistance options;
- are comfortable playing a platformer with touchscreen controls; and
- have confirmed that your device is supported by Capcom.
Consider another version if you:
- require a physical controller;
- want an exact, unmodified SNES presentation and mechanics;
- use a device outside Capcom’s supported-device list; or
- are unwilling to pay upfront for an app whose current store rating was about 3.6 stars when checked.
Bottom line
MEGA MAN X is genuinely available as a $9.99 Android port, but its significance is historical: the Android release happened in 2023, not 2026. It is a reasonable purchase for fans who want the classic campaign on a phone and accept touch controls plus the port’s changes. Gamepad-focused players, hardware with uncertain compatibility, and purists seeking the original mechanics should choose a different version or platform instead.
