Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is currently announced for Nintendo Switch—not as a separate Nintendo Switch 2 edition—alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. What did former Nintendo PR manager Kit Ellis say?
GamesRadar+ identifies Kit Ellis as a former senior PR manager at Nintendo of America. In a social-media video, Ellis said: “The way Konami has handled this game has been a little weird.”

He also described the distinction between playing the Switch release on Switch 2 and having a dedicated version: “The game isn’t even coming out on Switch 2. I mean, you can play it on a Switch 2, but this is a Switch 1 game that Konami is releasing. There is no dedicated Switch 2 version.” His remarks are criticism and commentary, not a statement from KONAMI about its plans or reasoning.
What is known about performance?
KONAMI’s demo page lists performance as 60 fps generally and 30 fps for the Nintendo Switch version. It does not give a Switch 2-specific performance specification. KONAMI’s demo page

Separately, GamesRadar+ reports that Ellis said the demo ran at 60 frames per second on Switch 2, while looking “a little blocky, a little bit chunky.” Those are Ellis’s observations as reported by the outlet, not independent test results or an official Switch 2 specification.
Why is there no dedicated Switch 2 version?
KONAMI’s product and demo pages do not explain why a separate Switch 2 edition is absent from the announced platform list. The available reporting also does not establish the publisher’s reason. Claims about cost, technical limits, timing, or sales strategy would be speculation.

What platforms and editions has KONAMI announced?
The game is a 2D action-exploration title set 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, with a story featuring Rose Belmont. KONAMI lists these platforms and editions on its product page:

Can demo progress carry over?
KONAMI says demo save data can transfer to the full game only if both versions are played on the same platform and account, and the relevant save data is retained.
