Samsung announced the Odyssey 3D G90XH, a 32-inch IPS gaming monitor that the company calls the world’s first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor. It has a 6,144 × 3,456 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 330Hz Dual Mode at 3K, eye tracking and a listed 1ms GtG response time. Samsung showed it at CES 2026, but as of August 18, 2026, its official sources do not confirm a U.S. price or retail release date.

What Samsung announced at CES 2026

Samsung announced the G90XH as the headline product in its 2026 Odyssey monitor lineup and scheduled the lineup for a CES 2026 showcase in Las Vegas from January 6–9. Samsung’s announcement describes the G90XH as the world’s first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor; that is Samsung’s claim, not an independently certified industry superlative. The company’s official announcement is available in the Samsung U.S. Newsroom.

The broader announced portfolio included five monitors spanning 3D, conventional high resolution, OLED and high-refresh designs:

  • Odyssey 3D G90XH: 32-inch 6K glasses-free 3D.
  • Odyssey G6 G60H: 27-inch QHD high-refresh model with Dual Mode.
  • Odyssey G8 G80HS: 32-inch 6K monitor without the announced glasses-free 3D feature.
  • Odyssey G8 G80HF: 27-inch 5K monitor with Dual Mode.
  • Odyssey G8 G81SF: OLED model.

Announcement status does not mean that every model was immediately available to buy.

The correct model name is G90XH, not simply “Odyssey G9”

Some headlines and social posts call Samsung’s CES product a “6K Odyssey G9.” Samsung’s official designation is Odyssey 3D, model G90XH. The G9 shorthand can cause confusion with both Samsung’s wider Odyssey family and the existing Odyssey 3D G90XF, a separate 27-inch 4K product already listed in the United States.

The G90XH is also not the same monitor as the announced Odyssey G8 G80HS. Both are 32-inch 6K displays with a 330Hz 3K Dual Mode, but Samsung identifies only the G90XH as the glasses-free 3D model.

These details come from Samsung’s global lineup announcement. Samsung has not published, in the cited announcement, the monitor’s brightness, contrast ratio, HDR certification, color-gamut coverage, VRR implementation, exact port count, GPU requirements, optimal viewing distance, viewing angle or a complete supported-game list. It also has not said whether 330Hz operation is available in 3D mode.

How glasses-free 3D works in practice

Samsung says the monitor uses real-time eye tracking to identify the viewer’s position and adjust depth and perspective so separate images create a stereoscopic effect without glasses. Samsung’s Odyssey materials also describe a built-in eye-tracking system paired with a lenticular lens layer; see the Odyssey monitor hub.

This is a desk display designed around a viewer sitting in front of it. The system must keep track of the viewer’s eyes or pupils as the viewer moves. Leaving the intended viewing zone can weaken the effect or make the image less stable, and multiple people may not see the same perspective. Those are practical characteristics of tracked lenticular displays, not claims that Samsung has quantified for the final G90XH.

Samsung’s “2D-to-3D conversion” is different from a game receiving custom stereoscopic rendering. Conversion can make ordinary content appear layered, while a studio-optimized title can be authored or tuned for more convincing depth. Samsung says its library of optimized games is expanding, but the CES announcement does not provide a complete G90XH game list.

What game support is known

Samsung says PC gamers will get an expanded lineup of titles with optimized 3D effects developed with game studios. A later Samsung GDC article shows demonstrations and named titles for the existing 27-inch G90XF, but that material should not be treated as proof that every title, or the same implementation, will support the G90XH. The GDC coverage is at Samsung’s newsroom.

What “6K” and Dual Mode mean for gaming

The G90XH’s 6,144 × 3,456 image contains approximately 33.6 million pixels. That density can make text, interfaces and detailed creative work noticeably sharper than 4K, while the 32-inch 16:9 format provides a large single-screen workspace.

Rendering modern games at native 6K and 165Hz is far more demanding than rendering at 4K. Actual frame rates will depend on the game, graphics settings, upscaling, frame generation and graphics card. DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 support alone do not guarantee that every GPU, cable and operating-system configuration can drive 6K at 165Hz.

  • SAMSUNG’S 32" ODYSSEY G8 G80HS: The industry’s first 6K Gaming Monitor, for next-level gameplay
  • 6K RESOLUTION (6144 x 3456 ↔ DLG 3072 x 1728) WITH 224 PPI: Defines scenes with intricately rendered details
  • DUAL MODE: Offers 6K at 165Hz for breathtaking visuals and 3K at 330Hz for lightning-fast action with a near-instant 1ms response time
  • FAST IPS PANEL AND 178° WIDE VIEWING ANGLE: Deliver vivid colors across the entire screen, while quick response time reduces motion blur and ghosting
  • HDR10+ GAMING: Optimizes brightness and contrast, providing enhanced color and depth

Dual Mode is a resolution-for-refresh trade-off:

  • 6K mode: 6,144 × 3,456 at up to 165Hz.
  • 3K mode: up to 330Hz at a lower output resolution.

Samsung has not clarified whether “3K” means exactly 3,072 × 1,728, where scaling occurs, how soft the image appears, or whether 3D works at both settings. A 330Hz mode is most useful when a system can actually produce very high frame rates, which is more plausible in lower-resolution competitive games than in demanding 6K releases.

G90XH versus the current Odyssey 3D G90XF

The G90XF is the Samsung glasses-free 3D monitor that has a U.S. retail listing today. Samsung’s captured product listing showed $1,799.99; prices can change, so check the live G90XF page before buying.

Feature Odyssey 3D G90XF Odyssey 3D G90XH
Screen size 27 inches 32 inches
Resolution 4K 6K, 6,144 × 3,456
Native refresh rate 165Hz 165Hz

U.S. status Retail product listed by Samsung CES-announced product; retail listing not confirmed in the cited official sources
U.S. price $1,799.99 shown in the captured listing Not confirmed

The G90XH is therefore more than a larger G90XF. Its extra pixels increase workspace and GPU demands, while Dual Mode adds a high-refresh option that Samsung has not fully documented for 3D use.

G90XH versus a conventional 6K monitor

Samsung’s announced 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS offers 6K resolution and 330Hz 3K Dual Mode without the G90XH’s announced glasses-free 3D feature. It is the more direct internal alternative for someone who wants a high-resolution, high-refresh display but does not consider 3D essential.

  • Choose the G90XH conceptually if glasses-free 3D is the main reason to upgrade and you are comfortable waiting for final software, pricing and hardware details.
  • Choose a conventional 6K monitor if text clarity, broad software compatibility, color workflow or unrestricted viewing positions matter more than stereoscopic effects.
  • Choose OLED if deep blacks and contrast are a higher priority than 6K resolution.
  • Choose a lower-resolution high-refresh display if stable frame rates, latency and competitive play matter more than maximum pixel count.

Is the G90XH available, and what will it cost?

As of August 18, 2026, Samsung’s official sources confirm the announcement and CES showing but do not provide a confirmed U.S. G90XH price or public retail release date. Samsung’s U.S. shopping hub lists the 2026 Odyssey range, while the specific purchasable 3D page found in the cited sources is for the different G90XF.

Do not use the G90XF’s $1,799.99 price as an estimate for the G90XH. The two monitors differ in size, resolution and operating modes, and Samsung has not announced a G90XH price. Forum speculation is not a reliable launch schedule.

Who should wait?

Wait for the G90XH if

  • You specifically want a large, glasses-free 3D display.
  • You need a 32-inch 6K workspace for gaming, visualization or creative applications.
  • Your graphics hardware can handle demanding high-resolution workloads.
  • You can tolerate uncertainty about price, shipping date, final 3D support and independent testing.

Buy the G90XF instead if

  • You want Samsung’s glasses-free 3D experience now.
  • 27-inch 4K and 165Hz meet your needs.
  • You prefer a listed U.S. product and published price over an announced model.

Skip glasses-free 3D if

  • 3D is a novelty rather than a core use case.
  • You need a broad, unrestricted viewing area for several people.
  • Your priority is color accuracy, HDR, OLED contrast or predictable software compatibility.

Bottom line

The Samsung Odyssey 3D G90XH is a confirmed CES 2026 announcement, not yet a confirmed U.S. retail product. Its combination of 32-inch 6K, 165Hz, 330Hz-at-3K Dual Mode and tracked glasses-free 3D is ambitious, but the buying decision depends on information Samsung has not yet published: price, release date, final game support, GPU requirements and the behavior of 3D at each display mode. Unless glasses-free 3D is your main reason to upgrade, a current 4K/3D monitor, conventional 6K display or OLED gaming monitor is the more certain choice today.
