The original Cities: Skylines launched for PC on March 10, 2015, and Paradox marked its tenth anniversary on March 10, 2025. The celebration brought free updates and paid Creator Packs and radio stations to both the original game and Cities: Skylines II. Paradox later announced a separate Switch 2 edition of the original game, scheduled for October 28, 2026.
What Paradox announced for the tenth anniversary
The anniversary was a month-long program, not a single release. The sequel’s anniversary content was planned for March 18, 2025, and the original game’s for March 25. Each game received a free patch alongside separately released Creator Packs and radio content. Paradox said the sequel’s new packs would be available individually or as a bundle; owners of its Ultimate Edition would receive them at no additional cost.
Paradox also reported that the series had “over 45 million players” in its March 10, 2025 announcement. The release did not explain how that figure was measured.
Anniversary releases by game
| Game | Planned date | Free patch | Additional content | Ultimate Edition inclusion |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cities: Skylines II | March 18, 2025 | New parks and buildings | Dragon Gate, Leisure Venues and Mediterranean Heritage Creator Packs; Atmospheric Piano, Jade Road and Feelgood Funk radio stations | Paradox said these packs would be added to the sequel’s Ultimate Edition at no additional cost to owners |
| Cities: Skylines | March 25, 2025 | Three dynamic parks, with variants that depend on the DLC a player owns | Emerging Downtown and Countryside Creator Packs; Harvest Harmony radio station | Not stated in Paradox’s March 10, 2025 announcement |
For the original game, the parks were the free update’s notable gameplay addition: their variants change according to owned DLC. The anniversary paid content was separate from that patch.
