Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24, 2025, so its original preorder period has ended. If you’re deciding what to buy now, the practical choice is between the physical Standard Edition, platform-specific digital Deluxe content, and limited-distribution physical editions with collectibles. Availability and prices vary by country and retailer; the official edition pages describe contents and distribution, not live stock.
What happened to preorders?
The game’s release date was April 24, 2025, announced by Japanese distributor SEGA. The official website marked the game’s first anniversary on April 24, 2026. The original preorder window is therefore past; treat current listings as purchases unless a retailer explicitly confirms a new preorder for a distinct release. SEGA’s Japanese announcement and the official game website establish the release and anniversary dates.

For a current purchase, compare the platform and format you need, the edition’s actual contents, regional eligibility, and the seller’s live price and stock. An official distributor or retailer name does not mean a particular item is currently available.
Which edition should you choose?
| Edition | What it includes | Best fit | Availability considerations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Full game; the publisher lists a physical version for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. | Players who want the base game without paying for listed cosmetic or collectible extras. | Confirm platform, region, physical or digital format, and current stock with the seller. | Deluxe | The US PS5 PlayStation Store listing includes the base game, Flowers Collection, and custom “Clair” and “Obscur” outfits for Maelle and Gustave. A Deluxe Edition Upgrade add-on is also listed. | Players who want the listed cosmetic content and consider it worth the price difference. | The cited listing is specifically for the US PlayStation Store and PS5. Check the matching store and platform for your region. |
| Lumière | Base game, Flowers Collection, two Clair Obscur outfits, collectible Steelbook, and 48-page hardcover artbook. | Players who want physical extras as well as the game’s listed cosmetic content. | The publisher says distribution is limited to Italy, Spain, and Portugal in Europe, and exclusive to GameStop in the US. Check local eligibility and live stock. |
| Collector’s | Game, 20.3 cm hand-painted resin Monolith music-box statuette, 48-page hardcover Expeditioner’s Journal, Steelbook featuring Gustave, Maelle, and the Paintress, and Digital Deluxe Upgrade Pack. | Collectors who specifically want the physical items and can verify the condition and price of an available copy. | The official page marks it sold out and does not promise a restock. Treat other listings as resale unless an authorized current listing confirms a new official release. |

What is in each edition?
Standard Edition: the base game
The publisher’s Standard Edition page lists the full game in physical format, with platform choices for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This is the direct option if you want to play without paying extra for the listed cosmetics or physical collector items. A Japanese package-version announcement is specific to PS5; check your own territory’s seller for the format and platform actually offered.

Deluxe Edition: digital cosmetics on the cited US PS5 store
The US PlayStation Store’s Deluxe Edition listing includes the base game, the Flowers Collection, and custom “Clair” and “Obscur” outfits for Maelle and Gustave. The store also lists a Deluxe Edition Upgrade add-on. The cited listing does not establish that identical contents or an equivalent offer is available on other platforms or in other regions.

Compare the local Deluxe price with the Standard price before choosing it: the documented difference is cosmetic content, not an additional game. Confirm whether you are buying the full Deluxe Edition or the upgrade add-on, since they are distinct listings.

Lumière Edition: physical extras with limited regional distribution
Lumière combines the base game and listed outfits with a Steelbook and 48-page hardcover artbook. Its distribution is geographically restricted: the publisher names Italy, Spain, and Portugal in Europe, and GameStop as the exclusive US distributor. A listing in one country should not be taken as evidence that the edition is sold or shipped in another.

Collector’s Edition: physical collectibles, but officially sold out
The Collector’s Edition adds a 20.3 cm hand-painted resin Monolith music-box statuette, a 48-page hardcover Expeditioner’s Journal, and a Steelbook featuring Gustave, Maelle, and the Paintress; it also includes the Digital Deluxe Upgrade Pack. The publisher marks the edition sold out and says it cannot promise a restock. Its page states: “though we will try our best to explore restocking the Sold Out Collectors Edition, we cannot promise it and we hope you understand the limitations with this.”
If you encounter an offer, distinguish an authorized new copy from a used or resale listing, and check condition, included items, seller, and price. The official page’s distribution information is not confirmation of current inventory.

The official edition page identifies these distributors and regional limits. These are distribution arrangements, not guarantees of current stock:

- Americas: Maximum Entertainment is named as the physical distributor.
- United States: GameStop is named as the exclusive distributor for Collector’s and Lumière editions.
- Europe: Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is named as physical distributor; Laced Records is named as exclusive European Collector’s Edition distributor. Lumière is limited to Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Quick Recap
A practical buying checklist
- Match the platform. Check the exact platform on the listing; a US PS5 Deluxe listing does not establish availability or identical contents for another platform or region.
- Confirm format. Make sure the offer is physical or digital as intended, and that any physical copy is for the correct platform and region.
- Compare contents, not just edition names. Standard is the base game; Deluxe adds the listed cosmetics on the cited US PS5 store; Lumière and Collector’s add physical collectibles as specified above.
- Check territory and seller. Lumière and Collector’s distribution is limited or exclusive in named regions. Confirm that the retailer serves your location.
- Verify the live offer. Check current price, stock, condition, and whether an offer is new, used, or resale. The official sources do not provide current prices or inventory for every retailer.
- For Collector’s, verify the full set. If buying resale, confirm that the listed physical items and digital content are included and understand any condition or redemption limitations before paying.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
