Amazon’s event ran October 6–7, 2026; the cited October 5 deal report said the latest Catan edition was 40% off and at its lowest price of the year at that time.
What the October 5 deal report said
The Double Kill’s October 5, 2026 report highlighted discounts on several classic board and card games ahead of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days. Its claims describe prices at the time of publication, not verified current offers or all-time price records. The report’s indexed text did not give exact prices for most of the games.
| Game | What the report said on October 5, 2026 | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Catan | Latest version was reported 40% off and at its lowest price of the year at that time. | An exact price, an all-time low, or a currently available offer. |
| Ticket to Ride | Reportedly at its lowest price since the previous Prime Day. | An exact price or a lifetime price low. |
| Pandemic | Named as another option in the roundup. | An exact discount or price. |
| Candy Land | Reported as under $15. | An exact price or whether that offer remains available. |
| Monopoly Deal | Reported as under $15. | An exact price or whether that offer remains available. |
| Wingspan | Not listed as a current deal; the article speculated that a discount might appear. | Any verified discount. |
These are the report’s claims, not independently confirmed price-history records. In particular, “lowest price of the year” for Catan is narrower than “all-time low,” and the relative comparison for Ticket to Ride does not show that it reached its lowest-ever price. The Double Kill’s October 5 roundup is the source for the game and discount claims.
When Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days took place
Amazon said its 2026 Prime Big Deal Days event ran for 48 hours, October 6–7, and was for Prime members. The October 5 board-game roundup appeared one day before the event began. Amazon’s announcement verifies the event dates and membership restriction, not the individual game prices. Amazon’s official announcement has the event details.

Should you wait for lower prices?
The October 5 report expected that its listed discounts might not get lower during the event, but that was an editorial prediction rather than a confirmed result. It also speculated that Wingspan could receive a discount; it did not report an active Wingspan offer. Neither prediction should be treated as evidence of what ultimately happened.
Because the event has ended, the article’s October 5 prices should not be carried forward as live deals. If you are checking a listing now, confirm the exact edition, displayed price, stock, and whether Prime membership is required. To judge whether a discount is genuinely worthwhile, compare the same edition against a reliable price history; a percentage-off label alone does not establish a historical low.

How to read the “all-time low” claim
The headline wording “all-time low prices” overstates what the report’s item-level details support. Its Catan claim was a year-low at the time, while its Ticket to Ride claim compared the price with the previous Prime Day. For Candy Land and Monopoly Deal, it supplied only an under-$15 threshold. No cited price-history charts or independent series establish all-time lows for these games.
