It expands the original Classic Mode with a new canon story, a larger map and a moon cycle that can turn apparent allies into threats. It is not a standalone game, and the available official listings do not establish it as the franchise’s finale.
What is Classic II: Dominique’s Curse?
It is downloadable content for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, built as an expanded follow-up to the game’s Classic Mode. Nintendo and Steam both state that the base game is required, so this is not a separate title you can play on its own. Nintendo’s Switch listing identifies the add-on as digital DLC, while Steam’s listing identifies it as single-player DLC.
The word “finale” in the original headline should be read as a description of this add-on’s retro-inspired presentation, not as confirmation that it is the last story or content in the Bloodstained series. Official descriptions call it a new canon story, but do not call it a franchise finale.
What does the DLC add?
A new story focused on Dominique
After Miriam defeats her, Dominique is cast into Limbo, a realm populated by demons. She begins without items or skills and seeks to steal Bael’s power so she can return to the mortal world and take revenge before her curse destroys her. The premise is described in the Nintendo product description and the Steam listing.

A larger, varied map
Classic II broadens the original Classic Mode with a larger map, more enemies, new gameplay and a canon storyline. Its listed environments include deserts, forests, graveyards and towns. Towns offer NPCs and merchants: players can sell treasure to improve equipment and purchase health potions.
A moon cycle that changes danger
The moon’s changing state affects the threat posed by the world. Nintendo says enemies grow stronger when darkness falls, and friendly demons can become hostile. The launch announcement also cautions that friends may become foes as the moon changes. In other words, an encounter that seems safe can shift as the cycle progresses.

What do you need before buying it?
- Own Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The base game is required; the DLC cannot be played by itself.
- Buy the add-on for the platform where you own the base game. Nintendo’s listing covers the Switch digital version, and Steam’s listing covers the PC version. Confirm compatibility and local availability in your platform’s storefront before purchasing, particularly for PlayStation or Xbox.
- Check the current local listing. Prices and availability can vary by region and change over time. Steam displayed $9.99 on its US page when accessed, but that is not a universal or guaranteed current price.
For Nintendo Switch, Nintendo lists a digital release dated June 11, 2024, published by 505 Games, with a file size of 2.2 GB. Steam lists the same release date, names ArtPlay as developer and 505 Games as publisher, and also states that the base game is required.

Classic II: Dominique’s Curse launched on June 11, 2024. The Bloodstained team announced the release on June 5, 2024, stating: “Bloodstained Ritual of the Night is required to play Classic II: Dominique’s Curse DLC.” The official announcement archive later listed Update 1.6 notes on October 22, 2024, including a fix related to Dominique’s death audio in Classic II.
