Look for wielding Claymen in those underground areas rather than assuming every Clayman can drop it.

Upgrading and choosing an affinity

Is Clayman’s Harpoon a good choice for a Strength/Intelligence build?
It is a plausible option for a Strength/Intelligence character that meets its requirements and wants a spear with both physical and magic attack power. Its listed base scaling is D in Strength and D in Intelligence, while Dexterity scaling is E; those letters describe the base entry and can change with upgrades or affinity. Whether it outperforms another weapon depends on the chosen upgrade path and your attributes. The cited references do not provide controlled comparisons with other weapons, so they do not establish that it is universally best for this build.

Don’t confuse it with the Nightreign weapon
