Code Violet is a PS5-only action-horror game built around prehistoric creatures, puzzles, stealth, combat and inventory management. The official pitch may appeal if you want dinosaur-themed survival horror, but the evidence available here is too limited to call it a broadly recommended buy: Push Square flags a close-camera issue in narrow spaces, and the US PlayStation Store displayed a low player-rating average when checked on October 4, 2026. At the displayed $49.99 price, weigh those signals against your interest in the premise.
What is Code Violet?
Code Violet is a third-person action-horror game for PS5, published by TeamKill Media LLC. The US PlayStation Store listing gives January 10, 2026 as its release date.
PlayStation describes a survival-horror loop involving prehistoric creatures, environmental and mechanical puzzles, inventory management, stealth and combat. Its story premise follows Violet at the Aion Bioengineering Complex, amid a conspiracy and a humanity displaced from an uninhabitable Earth. Those are the store’s descriptions of the game, not independent assessments of how well its systems or story work.
What do reviews and players say?
One specific reviewer concern
A Push Square review criticizes the close camera in confined spaces, noting that narrow corridors are common. That is a concrete concern to consider if you dislike restricted camera views, but one excerpt does not establish a wider critical consensus or explain every aspect of the game’s quality.

Player-rating snapshot
On October 4, 2026, the US PlayStation Store search result displayed a rating of 2.79 out of 5 from 5,006 player ratings. This is a dated, changeable storefront snapshot, not a controlled review score; the average and rating count may have changed since then. Check the live listing if the current rating matters to your decision.
Is Code Violet worth buying?
The US PlayStation Store displayed a price of $49.99 on October 4, 2026. That price can change. The available information does not establish how the game performs, whether updates have changed it, or whether another edition or platform is available, so the decision is best framed around the elements that are actually established:

Why is Code Violet not on PC?
In coverage of the game, GameSpot reported that TeamKill Media said it did not want users modding vulgar versions of the main character or other characters. This is a historical explanation attributed to the studio, not a current confirmation of every platform plan; the official listing cited above identifies the game as PS5 software.
