College Football 25 Ultimate Team lets you build a roster from college players, past legends and active NFL players, then shape it around team or scheme chemistry. EA’s reveal covered challenges, objectives, solo and competitive modes, and pack odds disclosures added later. These are launch-era details for the 2024 game—not confirmation that its events or online services remain available in October 2026.
What is College Football Ultimate Team?
Ultimate Team is a roster-building mode in EA SPORTS College Football 25. Its player pool brings together current college players, legends and, for the first time in the series, active NFL players. EA named Patrick Mahomes, Davante Adams, Christian McCaffrey, Josh Allen, CeeDee Lamb, Stefon Diggs and Joe Burrow as examples. You could use your roster against the AI or other players.

EA described the mode as a way to build a dream team from “Campus Heroes of today and Legends from the past.” The game launched worldwide on July 19, 2024, according to EA’s College Football 25 Ultimate Team Deep Dive.
How do you build a team in College Football 25 Ultimate Team?
EA said new players would start with a beginner team tied to a favorite school, then strengthen it through challenges, objectives, rewards and the in-game markets. The reveal announced more than 100 challenges for the start of the year; that is a launch-era count, not a current total.

Challenges and objectives
Challenges are on-field scenarios with specific requirements. EA said their rewards could include packs, individual player items and coins. Objectives could grant Field Pass XP, with rewards such as player packs and coins. Field Passes linked objectives and seasonal progress to rewards.
Marketplace, Auction House and Sets
At launch, coins could be spent in the Marketplace on packs or in the Auction House on specific players. EA also described Sets that let players exchange qualifying lower-rated items for a higher-rated player. The reveal said new player items would arrive in weekly releases; those schedules describe the original plan and do not establish what remains available now.

How does chemistry work in College Football 25 Ultimate Team?
You could choose a lineup manually or have it generated around highest overall rating, a selected Team Chemistry or a Scheme Chemistry. EA said matching chemistry tiers boost player attributes. Its launch reveal announced 134 Team Chemistries and 19 offensive and defensive Scheme Chemistries.

Scheme, playbooks and player roles
EA tied Scheme Chemistry to playbooks and player roles. It presented Run ’n’ Shoot and Air Raid as pass-first examples, and Option and Power Spread as ground-oriented choices. Scheme-specific playbooks could be unlocked through the relevant scheme trial challenges, so check those challenges before spending coins on a playbook in the Auction House.

Abilities, Ability Points and Training
Player items have rarity tiers—Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary—as well as position, archetype and equipped abilities. EA said Training unlocks abilities; you then activate them by allotting Ability Points (AP), subject to a lineup AP limit. Training could be earned by quickselling player items. Quickselling permanently discards the item, so review what you are giving up before confirming.
What modes and programs did EA announce?
EA’s launch-era overview described challenges, objectives, solo play, head-to-head seasons, Squads, Gauntlet and rotating House Rules. It also previewed Ultimate Alumni, ICYMI and Legends programs. These are descriptions of the original reveal, not a guarantee of present availability.

Squads
Squads assigned players one of three roles: Offensive Captain, Defensive Captain or Head Coach.
Gauntlet and House Rules
EA described Gauntlet as a run aiming for 10 wins that ended after two losses, with weekly timing and entry conditions set out in its launch article. House Rules included Touchdown Tango and Overtime. The specific schedules and expiration dates in that reveal are historical event details.

What should you know about packs and probabilities?
On July 2, 2025, EA explained that the in-game Store’s View Info option displays pack probabilities before a player purchases or opens a pack. EA said the breakdown is organized by item categories and that a category shown at 100% is guaranteed. Check the disclosure for the particular pack in-game: probabilities and contents can vary. Are College Football 25 Ultimate Team features still available?
The reveal explains what EA announced for College Football 25 at launch, but it does not establish whether the game’s online services, Marketplace, events or other live features are operating in October 2026. EA called College Football Ultimate Team a live service in its 2025 pack-probability article; that label alone does not confirm the current status of the CFB25 mode.
For limited successor-year context, EA’s June 27, 2025 College Football 26 Ultimate Team + Online H2H Deep Dive said certain players earned in CFB25 could result in crossover items in CFB26, naming Devin Hester, Haloti Ngata and Eric Dickerson. This documents specific continuity between those releases, not a general transfer system.
