EA revealed the first major College Football 26 title update on July 22, 2025, and scheduled it to launch July 24. The notes cover gameplay, Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team and presentation, with the most substantial Dynasty changes bringing position-change and skill-cap adjustments to Offline Dynasty.
When does the College Football 26 update come out?
EA announced July 24, 2025, as the update’s launch date in a Campus Huddle post dated July 22. EA said it was sharing the complete notes two days ahead of release, even though its stated goal was to publish each title update’s breakdown one day before launch. EA announced College Football 26 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The update post does not provide a separate platform schedule or patch version number. EA’s July 10 launch announcement identifies the game’s launch platforms.
What’s in the College Football 26 title update?
EA grouped the changes into five areas. Gameplay, Dynasty and presentation receive fixes or tuning; Road to Glory gets a pre-order bonus fix; and Ultimate Team adds limited-time event formats as well as screen updates.

Gameplay
- Fixed play art that remained visible after the snap when Home Field Advantage was active.
- Fixed a rare freeze during hit-stick attempts.
- Fixed stunts and twists that did not activate properly when selected from the play-call menu in online games.
- Fixed a catch animation that could fail to play when a user took control of a receiver during a route.
- Added tuning and animation improvements to physics-based tackling, plus game-stability improvements.
- Fixed blockers on Power O plays that sometimes initially moved in the wrong direction.
Dynasty
- Reduced the chance of rain in Dynasty and Road to Glory games.
- Fixed cold weather and snow appearing in warm-weather climates during College Football Playoff games.
- Fixed junior starters deciding to transfer because of Playing Time.
- Fixed the Redshirt players spreadsheet so fullbacks can see more than the IBL column.
- Fixed a problem that prevented players from entering free practice.
- Fixed an overtime freeze when playing the moments.
Road to Glory
Fixed an issue that applied the pre-order bonus at the start of a player’s second season after redshirting.
Ultimate Team
- Leaderboard Campaigns: Limited-time campaigns tied to specific programs place players in small leaderboard groups for head-to-head or solo play. Campaign objectives can include scoring points or earning wins, and rewards vary by campaign and tier.
- Lineup-building challenges: Program-specific events can require a themed lineup. EA’s example is an all-SEC team for a head-to-head Conference Clash event. Event and lineup screens show active events, requirements, lineup gaps and ways to acquire missing players.
- Updated progress and rewards screens to make them easier to understand.
Presentation
- Adjusted the First Down Rousers at Michigan.
- Fixed an opposing player joining the Gator chomp celebration.
- Limited Nebraska’s “Throw Bones” celebration to the defense.
- Corrected Bowl and Playoff end-zone colors for Missouri State and Delaware.
- Corrected the location of Texas State’s cannon touchdown celebration.
- Fixed camera obstructions in certain scenes.
What changed in Dynasty position changes?
EA said the position-change updates had already been added to Online Dynasty files the previous week and were being brought to Offline Dynasty files in this update. They change how position moves interact with skill-group caps and player development.
