Why fans are imagining a Flying-type Eevee
The Pokémon Company describes Winds and Waves as open-world adventures across “beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves that ebb and flow.” Those themes naturally invite guesses about Pokémon suited to the sky, sea, or both. One fan put the idea directly: “With wind and waves being subtitles for the games, maybe we get a flying type eevee?”
That comment is an example of the speculation, not evidence of a broad fan consensus. A March 10, 2026 TechTimes report also treated a possible new Eevee evolution as unconfirmed.
Has a Flying-type Eevee been confirmed?
No. The official Pokémon announcement confirms the games, their broad setting, platform, and planned release window; it does not announce a Flying-type Eevee or any new Eeveelution. Until Pokémon makes such a reveal, treat images, rumors, and predictions about one as speculation.

What is officially known about Winds and Waves?
- Platform: Nintendo Switch 2, exclusively.
- Release window: 2027, with a simultaneous worldwide release. No specific launch date is stated in the announcement.
- Setting: an open world with windswept islands and a large ocean.
The announcement says players will “team up with all kinds of Pokémon” to face challenges and forces of nature. It does not establish a particular Eevee evolution as part of that adventure.
Are Winds and Waves different games in important ways?
They are announced as paired titles sharing the broad island-and-ocean setting. The available announcement does not specify differences in story, mechanics, Pokémon availability, or version-exclusive content, so a detailed comparison would be premature.

Where can you find official updates?
Pokémon Support says, “All information regarding upcoming Pokémon titles will be posted at pokemon.com as soon as it is made public.” Check the support page for that guidance and Pokémon’s official news for announcements. If you collect Eevee cards while waiting, Eevee appears on the official Evolving Skies card checklist; that is an existing TCG card, not a Winds and Waves Flying-type Eevee product.
