In Crimson Desert, Abyss Gears are enhancements embedded in compatible weapons and equipment. They can add stats, special effects, or boosts to other mechanics, but each gear has its own slot compatibility. Use the list below as a guide to the kinds of effects available, then confirm the exact name, effect, and eligible equipment in the current game: the detailed list is secondary reporting, not official patch-verified documentation.
How to read the Abyss Gear list
Abyss Gears are not universal upgrades: an effect may be limited to particular equipment. The gear examples below are grouped by purpose, with compatibility included where the guide identifies it. The reviewed guide does not provide a sufficiently reliable, patch-verified catalog of every gear and exact stat value, so this is a practical reference rather than an exhaustive inventory.
| Gear or effect example | Compatible equipment reported | What it does or how to think about it |
|---|---|---|
| Aegis | Armor or shields | Defensive gear example; choose it when its effect fits the protection your build needs. |
| Infinite Arrows | Bows | Utility example for bow use, rather than a general-purpose equipment enhancement. |
| Destruction | Weapons, gloves, or footwear | Attack-oriented example. Check the specific item’s displayed effect before choosing it. |
| Other unique Abyss Gears | Varies by gear; check in-game | The guide describes unique effects, including items received as rewards, but does not establish a complete, verified compatibility list. |
| Other standard tiered Abyss Gears | Varies by gear; check in-game | Standard effects can be crafted and upgraded in tiers according to the guide. Exact names, values, and compatible slots should be confirmed in the current game. |
The names and examples in this table come from an IGN guide marked updated June 19, 2026. Its detailed entries are secondary reporting, and the guide itself may contain terminology or transcription inconsistencies. The official Pearl Abyss Crimson Desert page identifies the game but does not document these gear mechanics.
How to choose an Abyss Gear
- Start with the effect: decide whether you need a stat boost, damage, defense or resistance, a special attack, or utility.
- Check the eligible slot: a gear that works on a bow or shield will not necessarily fit another item type.
- Match it to the situation: consider the enemy, the resistance or damage type that matters, and your current build.
- Compare against your progression: a situational or unique effect may be more useful than a general boost, depending on what you are doing.
The available sources do not establish one universally best Abyss Gear. The useful choice depends on the effect, compatible equipment, and your immediate need.

Where to get Abyss Gears
The IGN guide describes three broad routes to obtaining gear:
- Quest and challenge rewards: some gears are earned through progression or challenges; the guide also notes unique reward gears.
- Purchases: the guide reports that some regular shops and Witches Workshops sell gears or related items.
- Crafting: obtain the relevant recipe or blueprint, then craft through a Cauldron or the crafting service described in the guide.
Availability can depend on progression and current game version. Check the relevant shop, reward, or recipe in-game rather than assuming every gear is available from every source.

Crafting and upgrading standard gear
- Acquire the blueprint for the standard gear you want.
- Use the associated crafting option; the guide identifies Cauldrons as a typical crafting route.
- To raise a standard gear’s tier, combine two copies of the same gear, as described by the guide.
The guide says a blueprint enables crafting a Tier I regular gear. It does not establish that every unique gear follows this tiering or upgrading process, so do not assume the standard recipe applies to unique effects.
Extracting and embedding gear
To move an Abyss Gear between equipment items, the guide points to a witch’s workshop and its extraction and embedding options. The exact labels and interface flow may vary with game updates; confirm them in the current interface.

- Visit a witch and choose the option labeled “Extract Abyss Gear” to remove an attached gear.
- Choose “Embed Abyss Gear” and select a compatible target item.
- If the target equipment has no open slot, create a slot before attempting to embed the gear.
These steps reflect the guide’s reported menu labels, not first-hand verification of the live interface.

A separate secondary page claims a total of 190 Abyss Gears, but the reviewed guide does not corroborate that figure; it should not be treated as a verified total. The available evidence also does not establish authoritative exact values for every effect, a complete compatibility matrix, or a patch-current exhaustive catalog. For an individual item, the current in-game description is the practical source to check before spending materials or changing equipment.
