Crimson Desert’s faction side quests are grouped by named factions, rather than documented as one linear quest chain. You can use the quest menu’s group filter to browse them, but a complete, verified list of quest starts, prerequisites, routes, and rewards is not established by the available guides. Here’s what players can reliably use now—and what to check in-game before planning around a specific unlock.
How faction side quests work
Pearl Abyss describes Pywel as a continent where “the rival factions of Pailune maintained a tense balance.” Its official Crimson Desert overview frames the conflict around the Black Bears’ attack on the Greymanes and Kliff’s effort to reunite survivors and rebuild the faction. It does not explain side-quest mechanics.

A June 9, 2026 Games.gg guide characterizes faction quests as the game’s primary side-quest system: quests are grouped under named factions, each with its own agenda, NPCs, and quest pool. The guide says the quest menu can filter quests by group. It also reports “at least 16 distinct factions” at launch; treat that as the guide’s dated count, not an official or independently confirmed current total. See the Games.gg faction-quest guide.
How to find faction quests in the quest menu
- Open the in-game quest menu.
- Use its group filter to view quests by faction, as described in the June 2026 Games.gg guide.
- Check the quest’s current status and any displayed objective or location in your game before setting out. The available guides do not establish a universal unlock trigger or prerequisite list.
This is a way to browse faction groups, not a confirmed route through every quest. The sources do not show that factions must be completed in a particular order.

The June 2026 Games.gg guide gives examples, but its reward and access details are not independently verified here against the current game. Use them as leads to check in-game, not as definitive guarantees.

What a complete walkthrough still needs to verify
A useful quest-by-quest route should identify the faction and region, starting NPC, prerequisite, objective sequence, reward, and any access or follow-up unlock. Those details are not established as a complete set by the sources available here. In particular, do not assume that an unlisted prerequisite is absent, that an area unlock occurs at a universal point, or that a quest is missable.
A faction quest map page updated October 2, 2026 says it covers Pywel and the Abyss, but its accessible text does not expose individual quest steps. It therefore cannot confirm a full route or trigger list. Check the faction quest map for its mapped coverage, and rely on your in-game quest log for the objectives currently shown to your character.
