The Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter arrived on June 17, 2025, bringing Springtrap—formerly known as William Afton—into the game as The Animatronic. When did the FNAF chapter come out?
Behaviour Interactive’s official chapter listing dates the Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter to June 17, 2025. It is digital game content for Dead by Daylight, not a physical release. The announcement and chapter page identify its featured Killer and content, but do not establish current price, storefront availability by region, or later gameplay changes.

Who is Springtrap in Dead by Daylight?
Springtrap, previously known as William Afton, enters the Fog as The Animatronic. Behaviour Interactive’s May 27, 2025 announcement introduces him as the chapter’s new Killer. The official chapter page labels his difficulty Hard and names his power Fazbear’s Fright.
How do Springtrap’s Security Doors work?
The launch implementation in Behaviour Interactive’s 9.0.0 patch notes, published June 19, 2025, places seven Security Doors around the map at random. Each has a camera, creating an information and movement system both sides can use.

For Survivors
- Cycle through camera views attached to the Security Doors to observe the map.
- Travel to the door shown by the camera you are viewing.
- Use cameras and doors repeatedly only with their limited battery in mind; the patch notes do not state a total battery capacity.
- The notes also say camera use can potentially reveal The Animatronic’s aura, giving Survivors a way to gather information about his position.
For The Animatronic
Springtrap can enter a Security Door and exit through another, including one occupied by a Survivor. The 9.0.0 notes say his travel between doors does not require battery power; arriving at an occupied door causes a grab. That gives him map mobility and a sudden close-range threat, while Survivors’ repeated use of the system is constrained by its battery.
What does Fazbear’s Fright do?
The Animatronic can throw a Fire Axe. A hit embeds the weapon in a Survivor, leaving them vulnerable until they remove it. The character page describes the power as a projectile that also enables a close-range grab attack. These details describe the launch-era implementation documented for version 9.0.0, not a guarantee of current balance; consult later official patch notes for changes.

The 9.0.0 notes list three perks for The Animatronic. Their launch descriptions are:

What is Springtrap’s Mori?
The official May 27, 2025 announcement includes “What is Springtrap’s Mori?” as a FAQ heading, but the chapter details and patch notes cited here do not specify the animation. No description of the Mori is established in those sources.
What challenges do players face while using Springtrap?
The official announcement raises this question but does not provide a detailed list of challenges. The documented mechanics point to a practical trade-off: The Animatronic can move quickly between doors and threaten a grab, while Survivors can use door cameras for information and travel but consume limited battery through repeated use. The cited official material does not support a broader claim about his relative strength compared with other Killers.

What comes with the chapter?
The official chapter page lists a Stack of Pizzas badge and Vent Crawl banner as chapter-exclusive items. These are digital, in-game cosmetics, not physical merchandise.
Can you still earn the Discord quest reward?
The launch Discord quest was time-limited. Behaviour Interactive’s June 18, 2025 Discord Quests FAQ gives an acceptance window of June 17–24, 2025, and a reward-claim deadline of July 24, 2025. Those dates have passed. The FAQ says that iteration was open to all regions and names PC Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox as supported platforms. It also describes a later promotional-code route, but the cited information does not establish whether any code remains redeemable.
