Battlemarked takes the tactical, cooperative foundation of Demeo and reshapes it around Dungeons & Dragons characters, monsters, and campaigns. It is an appealing next step for players who want a structured adventure with friends—not a tabletop rules simulator or a replacement for a human Dungeon Master. The game launched in 2025, and its content has since grown to include a third campaign.
What is Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked?
Battlemarked is a turn-based tactical role-playing game built on Resolution Games’ Demeo Action Roleplaying System. Players move heroes through encounters, use character-specific abilities and cards, and cooperate to overcome enemies. Its setting and roster draw on D&D, including Forgotten Realms locations and familiar classes such as paladin, sorcerer, ranger, fighter, bard, and rogue. Steam’s game listing describes it as single-player and online co-op, with cross-platform multiplayer and VR support.
The key design choice is that the game handles the adventure structure and Dungeon Master duties. Resolution Games said in a February 27, 2025 developer diary that it wanted to “emulate the feeling of playing Dungeons & Dragons with your friends,” while letting the game run the experience. That makes Battlemarked a streamlined tactical adaptation of D&D’s world and imagery; the available descriptions do not establish that it reproduces the tabletop game’s full rules or open-ended roleplaying.
How is Battlemarked different from Demeo?
Resolution Games describes Demeo as more roguelike and Battlemarked as more focused on story and campaigns. In the developer diary, the studio put it this way: “Demeo is more of a rougelike game, whereas Battlemarked focuses more on the story and the campaign.” The spelling “rougelike” is retained from the source.

That distinction points to the sequel’s main shift: instead of centering the experience on repeatable roguelike runs, Battlemarked presents authored adventures, story choices, and a campaign framework. It preserves the cooperative tactical combat while giving players a more explicit narrative route through the world.
Can you play solo or with friends?
Yes. The game supports solo play as well as cooperative groups of up to four. Steam says solo players can command a party of multiple heroes, while groups can take on adventures together. The studio’s 2025 developer diary also described a one-to-four-player game.

By the September 22, 2026 update, Resolution Games listed the third campaign as available on Xbox, Steam, Meta Horizon, and PlayStation. At launch, the studio described two campaigns. That is no longer the complete content picture: on September 22, 2026, Resolution Games released Campaign III: Twilight’s End on Xbox, Steam, Meta Horizon, and PlayStation. The campaign moves the story to Mithral Hall and the Silver Marches and adds weapons, locations, monsters, bosses, one-shot dungeons, dice, and achievements. It is paid DLC, but the sources here do not establish one price that applies across storefronts.
The September update listed game version 7.2.39817, or 7.2.39768 on PlayStation. Resolution Games said Switch 2 and PICO versions of the DLC would follow; that announcement is not confirmation that those versions have since arrived, so check the relevant store for current availability.

Is Battlemarked a good fit for your group?
- Choose it if you want turn-based, cooperative tactical combat and a campaign structure that can be played without appointing a human DM.
- It may not be the right substitute if what you want is the tabletop game’s full ruleset, free-form roleplaying, or a human-led campaign; those qualities are not established by the official descriptions.
- Check before buying which platform your group uses, whether you need Switch 2’s Nintendo Switch Online subscription for multiplayer, and whether your group wants the separately sold third campaign.
