Titans won, and Bungie’s deadline to finish event challenges was April 1, 2025, before 10 AM PT. This guide explains how the event worked and what its rewards involved; its activities and limited-time offers are no longer available.
How Guardian Games 2025 worked
Guardian Games was a class competition between Hunters, Warlocks and Titans. Players earned Medallions through event activities and deposited them at the Tower podium to add to their class’s score. Bungie explained that each day’s class score was based on the average Medallion score of players who deposited one that day, calculated separately for each class. The class that won the most days took the event.

In its March 6, 2025 announcement, Bungie’s Destiny 2 Community Team put the scoring rule this way: “Each day, class scores will be measured by the average medallion score of all players who’ve deposited a medallion that day, separated by class of course.” Bungie’s March 6 This Week in Destiny also described earning Medallions by competing in PvP and completing activities.
Bungie’s general Guardian Games guide describes Medallions from Contender, Platinum and Diamond Cards, as well as ritual activities with a class item equipped. It also covers bounties from Eva Levante and depositing Medallions at the Tower Podium. That page is general guidance, not a 2025-specific record. It warns that a full Medallion Case may cause Medallions earned by claiming Triumphs to be lost; treat that as general guidance rather than a confirmed 2025-specific rule.

Rushdown: the new boss-rush activity
Rushdown was Guardian Games 2025’s timed activity, drawing bosses from Destiny 2 campaigns, seasonal story missions and Exotic missions. Each run had five encounters. Enemies became more difficult after each defeated boss, while successful encounters added time to the clock.
What to prioritize for rewards
- Complete three encounters: Bungie said finishing at least three encounters in any mode guaranteed a Guardian Games weapon drop for that run.
- Push for higher score thresholds: Rushdown used five thresholds—bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond. In Standard and Expert modes, reaching higher thresholds improved the chance of additional perks.
- Choose Expert for a chance at stronger drops: Bungie said high Expert scores could offer a chance at fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapons with additional perks. Neither a particular perk combination nor a Masterworked drop was guaranteed by reaching a threshold.
These mechanics were announced in Bungie’s March 6 event overview. The practical baseline was three completed encounters for the guaranteed weapon; score chasing offered chances at extras, not certainty.
Event Card challenges, rewards and The Champ title
The Event Card challenges awarded event rewards that Bungie listed as weapons, an Exotic emote, an Exotic Sparrow and a Legendary shader. Completing every challenge earned The Champ title. An upgraded Event Card let players use Event Tickets to unlock additional rewards.
Bungie also announced three new armor ornament sets through Eververse for Silver or Bright Dust. These were part of the 2025 event offering, not a statement that the sets remain available now. The event launched alongside Heresy Act II; Bungie’s March 13 This Week in Destiny also noted a new Trace Rifle among the event rewards.
When the event ended and who won
Episode: Heresy began with Update 8.2.0 on February 4, 2025, providing the episode context for the event. Bungie announced Guardian Games on March 6 and confirmed on March 13 that it went live alongside Heresy Act II. The cited announcements do not establish a complete exact start-to-end schedule in one passage, so the firm closing date is the challenge deadline: players had until April 1, 2025, before 10 AM PT to finish active challenges.

The 2025 Guardian Games jersey offer has expired
The physical Guardian Games 2025 jersey offer had two separate deadlines. Players had to earn the qualifying Gold Triumph by April 1, 2025 at 9:59 AM PDT to become eligible to purchase it. The purchase window then closed June 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT. Both dates have passed; the historical offer does not establish that the jersey is currently available.
Bungie announced the Triumph eligibility deadline in its March 13 post and the purchase deadline in its April 3 post.
