Presage is currently listed as an available Exotic Mission in Destiny 2. Find it in the Director under Destinations or Portal Ops, then follow the Egregore Link spores through the derelict ship and use the arena consoles to manage heat during the final fight. Its signature reward is Dead Man’s Tale; check the activity’s in-game reward panel for the selected version to confirm any additional loot.
How to access Presage in Destiny 2
Bungie’s Activities help page lists Presage among the available Exotic Missions. Look for it in the Director under Destinations or the Portal Ops tab. Bungie’s general listing does not state a Presage-specific unlock prerequisite, so use the current Director listing rather than older instructions that send you to the Tangled Shore.
Exotic Missions support fireteams of up to three players. The Director is the most reliable place to verify the mission’s current listing and the reward panel for the version you select.
Presage walkthrough: crossing the Glykon
The route is a mix of traversal, combat and Egregore Link barriers. The room landmarks below follow a third-party route guide, not an official Bungie map; if you reach a dead end, check for breakable vent panels and paths at a different elevation.

1. Board the derelict ship
Begin outside the ship and move across the exterior hull platforms until you find an open vent. Follow the ducts and drop into the Glykon. Inside, continue through vent passages and upper levels. When a corridor appears blocked, inspect nearby panels and look above or below your current floor for another route.
2. Use Egregore Link to pass barriers
Look for clusters of spores. Shoot a cluster to gain Egregore Link, then cross the nearby barrier or gap before the buff expires. The route repeatedly uses this mechanic, so identify the barrier before shooting the spores and move promptly once the buff is active.

3. Follow switches, vents and the hangar route
As you progress, activate switches and return to the hangar area when the path calls for it. Continue through further spore-to-barrier crossings, vents and combat rooms toward the final encounter. Expect Scorn and explosive Screebs; keep distance while dealing with the Screebs. If you miss a jump or a door seems inaccessible, search for a vent opening or an alternate level rather than assuming the route ends there. How to defeat the Locus of Communion
The final encounter follows a repeating damage-and-heat cycle, according to the same guide. Keep space from the Locus of Communion, whose attacks hit hard, and be ready to leave the heated area between damage phases.

- Damage the boss until it retreats. Use the opening to deal damage, then prepare for the next phase when the Locus withdraws.
- Clear the enemies and activate three lower-arena consoles. The guide places two consoles at opposite ends of the arena and the third in the hot central room.
- Activate the central console quickly. The middle area is overheated, so move through it to operate the console rather than lingering there.
- Damage the boss during the next phase. When the room turns red again, leave the heated area, clear the enemies and repeat the cycle.
The room locations and sequence are guide advice rather than an official current encounter specification. Use the arena’s visual cues to orient yourself if a console is not where expected.

Bungie also says that opening hidden caches during Exotic quest Presage advances the Dead Man’s Tale catalyst objective faster. The catalyst is described as a masterwork upgrade. Bungie’s inventory entry does not give current reward odds by mode or guarantee a particular catalyst drop on a specific clear.
Unofficial listings show multiple labels and variants, but they do not establish that every listed item drops from every version or run. Before launching, inspect the selected activity’s in-game reward panel for its current loot pool. Bungie’s activity information confirms Presage’s availability but does not enumerate a current, mode-by-mode reward pool.

Choosing a Presage version
An unofficial database distinguishes labels including Normal, Master, Standard and Expert, as well as Matchmade and Customize variants. That listing does not establish the current rewards for each version or a definitive difficulty comparison. Check the Director’s options and reward panel at launch time; do not assume the labels or loot shown in an external listing describe the current activity configuration.
