Zero Hour has six floor-puzzle routes: one for each of the Arc, Void, and Solar Threats on Normal and Legend. Match both the active Threat and difficulty before stepping onto the plates; the routes are not interchangeable.
How to read the routes
Start at the entrance and face the exit. “Forward” means toward the exit; left and right are from your Guardian’s perspective while facing it. A route begins with the starting tile row: move forward the listed number of tiles and use the specified tile across that row, then follow each turn and tile count in order. The six patterns correspond to the mission’s Threat and difficulty. PC Gamer’s route guide lists the Threat-specific Normal and Legend solutions.
Arc Threat routes
Normal
- Move forward 2 tiles, using the fourth tile from the left.
- Move left 3 tiles.
- Move forward 3 tiles.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move back 1 tile.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move forward 2 tiles.
Legend
- Move forward 2 tiles, using the leftmost tile.
- Move right 3 tiles.
- Move forward 3 tiles.
- Move left 3 tiles.
- Move forward 1 tile.
Void Threat routes
Normal
- Move forward 3 tiles, using the leftmost tile.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move back 1 tile.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move forward 3 tiles.
- Move left 4 tiles.
- Move forward 1 tile.
Legend
- Move forward 5 tiles, using the leftmost tile.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move back 2 tiles.
- Move right 2 tiles.
- Move forward 3 tiles.
Solar Threat routes
Normal
- Move forward 3 tiles, using the center tile.
- Move left 2 tiles.
- Move forward 2 tiles.
- Move right 4 tiles.
- Move forward 1 tile.
Legend
- Move forward 2 tiles, using the leftmost tile.
- Move right 1 tile.
- Move forward 1 tile.
- Move right 3 tiles.
- Move forward 2 tiles.
- Move left 3 tiles.
- Move forward 1 tile.
Confirm the Threat before crossing
In the standard rotating activity, the floor pattern follows the active daily Threat, not a single permanent Normal or Legend route. Check the activity’s Threat and difficulty before using a path; the Normal and Legend versions differ even for the same element. Weekly labels and older Heroic/Expert route names do not describe the current route set.

There is a reported edge case when launching Zero Hour through Portal: the launch configuration may not show the rotating Threat. A Reddit player reported Solar activity modifiers but found that the Legend Solar route failed, so those modifiers alone do not establish which floor pattern applies. If Portal does not identify the Threat, don’t assume Solar or treat a failed route as confirmation of another one. The report describes that unclear Portal case.

Cross safely and disable the floor
- Take deliberate, centered steps. The plates are lethal, and landing near an edge or clipping a neighboring plate can cause a failure.
- Avoid sprinting, sword lunges, skating, grapples, high-momentum jumps, or other movement that may carry you past the intended tile. Position Is Everything’s guide also warns about overshooting and edge landings.
- Once across, activate the switch to turn off the electrified floor. If a teammate reaches the far side first, have them disable it before others attempt the crossing when possible; reaching the far side is not evidence that the rest of the fireteam is automatically pulled across.
Use the in-game clue on Normal
Community reports say the Normal version has a route clue on a wall in the room immediately before the floor puzzle. The same report says the corresponding clue is absent on Legend, where you will need the matching route or trial and error. The report discusses the reprised puzzle and clue.

Common route mix-ups
- Using one “universal” route: There are six Threat-and-difficulty combinations, not one universal path.
- Using the Normal path on Legend: Each Threat has a distinct route for each difficulty.
- Following an older weekly or Heroic/Expert guide: Current route labels are Normal and Legend, and standard activity patterns track the daily Threat.
- Trusting a generic two-route list: A generic Normal/Legend route does not replace the six Threat-specific paths.
