Reports before launch claimed that leaked material included the full Pokédex for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. That claim was never independently confirmed by the sources reviewed here, and GamesRadar noted it was unclear how much of the leaked material still applied to the final game. The game has since launched, so the leak claim is historical—not a verified guide to the released roster.
What was reported before launch?
On October 13, 2025, three days before the game’s release, GamesRadar reported that information associated with a so-called “Freakleak” was circulating online. The report said the material allegedly included the full Pokédex, in-development builds, and other development information. It did not establish that every item in a circulated roster was authentic or present in the final release. GamesRadar’s report specifically cautioned that the relevance of the material to the final version was unclear.

Was the leaked roster confirmed as the final roster?
No. The sources available for this story do not provide an independently verified complete roster or a publisher confirmation that the alleged list matched the released game. They also do not substantiate a verified final roster count. Treat specific claims about “every Pokémon” in the leak as allegations unless they are separately supported by official information or by the released game itself.

The official materials do confirm some Pokémon and game systems, but those details should not be mistaken for a full roster. The Pokémon Company named Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile as the three possible partners players can choose at the start of the adventure. It also says players fill the Pokédex by catching, evolving, or trading Pokémon. Those facts confirm the starters and how Pokédex registration works; they do not validate a leaked list of every available Pokémon. The Pokémon Company’s July 22, 2025 announcement provides that official context.
What is officially known about Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
The Pokémon Company describes the game as an adventure set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan aims to make the city a place for people and Pokémon. Wild zones provide places to battle and catch Pokémon, while the Z-A Royale and Rogue Mega Evolution incidents form part of the story. Mega Evolution is also a confirmed game feature.

Unlike a roster leak, these are descriptions from official game materials. The same announcement says battles happen in real time: Trainers and Pokémon move during combat, and Pokémon use moves when commanded. It does not give a complete list of species in the game.

No. The game launched on October 16, 2025, according to the official release announcement. The official site now labels it available. Its September 30, 2026 update says a bundle combining the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension DLC is scheduled for October 29, 2026. The Switch 2 Edition is described as offering improved graphics and frame rates; owners of the original Nintendo Switch game can upgrade by purchasing an upgrade pack. The official game site carries the current availability update.

How to read old “full Pokédex leak” claims
- Separate the report from the claim. GamesRadar reported that material allegedly included the full Pokédex; that is not the same as publisher verification.
- Check what version the list describes. The October 2025 report said it was unclear how much of the material remained relevant to the final release.
- Look for official confirmation. The Pokémon Company’s announcements confirm selected details, including the three starting partner options, but not a complete roster.
- Do not infer completeness from a list’s label. A repost called “every Pokémon” is not proof that it is exhaustive or accurate.
