Yes—Fortnite brought the Kamehameha back on January 31, 2023, in update v23.30. Epic said it was available in Battle Royale and Zero Build until v23.40. That confirms a past return, not that the item is available in Fortnite now.
When did the Kamehameha return to Fortnite?
Epic brought the Kamehameha out of the vault in Fortnite v23.30, released January 31, 2023, alongside the Nimbus Cloud (Kintoun). During matches, players could find both items in capsules. Epic stated that the pair would remain in Battle Royale and Zero Build until v23.40. Epic’s v23.30 announcement documents the return and its stated end update.
The Kamehameha first appeared as part of Fortnite’s Dragon Ball collaboration in August 2022. Epic described it as a Battle Royale attack item, also delivered through capsules. Epic’s original collaboration announcement covers that first appearance.
Is the Kamehameha available in Fortnite now?
The official announcements cited here establish the 2023 return, but do not establish that the Kamehameha is in the live loot pool today or available across all modes. Check the current game and Epic’s official Fortnite announcements for live gameplay availability. The sources do not provide a Kamehameha-specific schedule for future returns.

Do not confuse a gameplay item with an Item Shop cosmetic. Epic’s support guidance about rotating shop inventory applies to shop items; it does not confirm that the Kamehameha is currently obtainable in a match or say when it might return. Epic’s Item Shop rotation guidance recommends checking again for items that leave the shop.
Which modes and playlists included it?
For the January 2023 return, Epic explicitly named Battle Royale and Zero Build. The update also excluded the item from competitive playlists. Those details describe the documented v23.30 period, not current mode availability. The 2022 collaboration announcement separately noted an exception for the Tournament of Power at that time; it should not be read as a current playlist listing.
