The Greatest OMNI Carnival is a long-running challenge at Paradise Colosseum, not a set of fights you can finish when you first meet Volcanomon. Speak with him to start and select available matches, then return as the story advances and complete the named side missions to unlock the full challenger roster. The final challenge, against Marsmon, opens only after late-story and match-completion requirements are met.
How to unlock The Greatest OMNI Carnival
The Carnival is introduced around the Paradise Colosseum story sequence. Game8 places its availability during the main mission “The Violence of Humans,” when Volcanomon sends a Digivice message; Neoseeker describes the unlock as following completion of “The Paradise Colosseum.” These guide descriptions differ in how they frame the timing, but both direct players to Volcanomon at the Colosseum. - Follow the main story through the Paradise Colosseum sequence. When Volcanomon sends a message, go to Paradise Colosseum and speak with him.
- Choose from the Carnival matches currently available. The initially open bouts are only the beginning of the mission.
- Advance the story and complete the side missions listed below, then return to Volcanomon to check for newly available challengers.
Where is Volcanomon?
Volcanomon is at Paradise Colosseum and is the contact for starting the activity and selecting Carnival matches. If you have reached the Colosseum but cannot find the full set of fights, continue the main story, complete relevant side missions, and revisit him; some challengers are gated behind later progression.
How to unlock every Carnival challenger
The following roster and prerequisites are listed by Game8. “Complete previous matches” means that challenger is gated by progress through earlier Carnival bouts; story and side-mission gates can likewise mean a match is available only during the named point in the game. ( Game8’s Carnival guide )

The names and spellings in the table follow Game8’s listing, including “The True Twentiest” and “Pharoahmon.” If a name matters for a UI search, use the wording shown in your game.
Why are more Colosseum fights not appearing?
Not every Carnival match is available at the initial visit. Neoseeker notes that later challengers can depend on main-story progress, post-game progress, or other side missions, and Game8’s listed gates show that pattern across the roster. ( Neoseeker; Game8 )
- If a match says to complete previous matches, clear the Carnival bouts already offered.
- If a match is tied to a story mission, progress the main story to that point and check Volcanomon again.
- If a match names a side mission, complete that mission and return to Paradise Colosseum.
- For Kings of Pharoahmon, the listed timing is a visit to the In-Between Theater before the final story boss.
- For Marsmon, finish “The Final Battle Over the Natural Order” as well as every earlier Carnival match.
How to prepare for Carnival battles
Build around the opponent rather than one fixed party
Use the opponent information shown in-game to adjust Digimon types, elemental coverage, equipment, and skills. Bandai Namco’s overview describes equipment as a way to raise stats and resistances, and Attachment Skills as sources of elemental attacks or ability boosts. Digimon also have nonlinear Digivolution paths, so a party can be adapted without assuming there is one required lineup. ( Bandai Namco: Digimon Story: Time Stranger )

Use the training systems if your team needs tuning
The official game overview says Digimon can be trained in the DigiFarm and Agent Skills can be purchased with Anomaly Points. Those are general preparation systems rather than Carnival-specific unlocks; use them if a battle exposes a gap in your team’s stats, resistances, or skill coverage. Game8 suggests considering MetalGarurumon, Dianamon, or JumboGamemon, describing them as Data Digimon with Water/Ice special skills. This is guide advice, not a universal or independently tested best team. For “Terrier Twins and Their Teacher,” Game8 identifies level 62 Lopmon, Terriermon, and Cherubimon (Good), notes their strong magic attacks, and suggests mixing Virus and Data types to exploit their attributes. Game8 and Neoseeker both list the completion reward as 200 Anomaly Points, two Courage Point V, and one Immortal Egg. ( Game8; Neoseeker )
A GameFAQs walkthrough describes a nine-match reward progression: the first four matches give 10,000 yen and HP/SP Capsule IIs; the next four give 25,000 yen and HP/SP Spray IIs; and a ninth match gives 50,000 yen and the Omni Sword. ( GameFAQs walkthrough ) That account’s nine-match framing conflicts with Game8’s substantially longer roster and later progression gates, so those bout-by-bout rewards should not be treated as a complete reward list for the current Carnival. Check the reward display in your game for the match you are entering.
What kind of game is Time Stranger?
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a single-player monster-taming RPG with turn-based battles. Bandai Namco lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch as platforms.
