Bethesda does explicitly say that enabling a mod prevents achievements and trophies. Those are separate issues, so don’t assume the mod rule also applies to console commands.
What’s confirmed about Fallout 4 mods
Bethesda’s Fallout 4 mod support guidance says that once a game has a mod enabled, achievements and trophies will not unlock. Bethesda advises disabling all mods and returning to a save from before mods were enabled. If you want achievements, avoid enabling mods on that playthrough.

What’s known about console commands
Bethesda has a separate Developer Mode and console command support article warning that activating a console command with the tilde key flags subsequent save progress as developer-only, including progress on old saves. But that article does not identify Fallout 4. It therefore cannot confirm that this warning applies to Fallout 4.
Community claims about Fallout 4 console commands conflict, and the available evidence does not settle whether merely opening the console is enough, whether you must enter a command, or whether either action affects achievements. It also does not establish different behavior by platform, game version, or PC distribution. Treat the Fallout 4 command question as unresolved rather than relying on a categorical yes or no.

If an achievement isn’t unlocking
- Check whether mods were enabled. If so, Bethesda’s guidance is to disable all mods and load a save from before mods were enabled. It does not promise that achievements will resume on a save that has already been affected.
- Verify the exact achievement requirements. Bethesda recommends confirming that the stated unlock conditions have been met.
- Check account synchronization. If the requirements appear complete, Bethesda suggests signing out, rebooting the device, and signing back in so the account can synchronize.
Bethesda reported resolving an Xbox Fallout 4 achievement-unlock issue on April 19, 2024. That dated report does not guarantee that every current unlock or synchronization problem is resolved. Fallout 4 is listed for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The available evidence does not confirm that console-command behavior differs among these platforms or, on Windows, between game distributions. Don’t infer a platform-specific achievement rule from the separate Developer Mode article.
