Older guides describe the system as it used to work, not a task you need to complete now.
How do you pay base taxes now?
There is no current tax-payment process described by Funcom’s announcement: base taxation has been removed. You do not need to travel to a tax representative or pay Solaris to keep a player-built base maintained.

The announcement establishes the removal, but does not settle whether any legacy base or mode retains residual tax settings. Avoid treating old payment instructions as evidence that a current tax is due.
What did the old tax system require?
Older guides said players paid weekly Solaris taxes to maintain a base, with the amount depending on the size of the land claim. They directed players to an Imperial Tax Representative in Arrakeen or Harko Village. These are historical instructions; they are not a current payment route.

Historical travel to the representative
PC Gamer’s June 9, 2025 guide said players could take a taxi from a Tradepost to Arrakeen or Harko Village for 2,500 Solaris, or travel in their own ornithopter. That fare and those directions describe the former tax process only.
Historical warnings about nonpayment
Game8’s old guide warned that prolonged nonpayment disabled a base shield, leaving the structure vulnerable to sandstorm damage. That warning applied to the former system; it should not be read as a present tax deadline or risk after the announced removal.

Why do old guides and player questions still mention taxes?
Search results and older discussions can remain visible after a game mechanic changes. Questions such as “Do I have to pay taxes?” and “I wanted to pay the taxes for my base but I can’t” reflect that earlier system, not proof that a current payment is required.
