Dodonpachi DaiOuJou Blissful Death Re:Incarnation is M2 ShotTriggers’ 2023 Japanese release of CAVE’s vertical-scrolling shooter for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. You can choose a standard physical copy, a download, or a limited physical edition with archival materials and other extras. The limited edition makes sense if you want those collectibles; otherwise, choose between a physical copy and download based on how you prefer to own and play games.
What is Re:Incarnation?
The Japanese title is 怒首領蜂大往生 臨廻転生. M2 lists the game as a vertical-scrolling shooter for one or two players, released in Japan on 7 December 2023. It is part of M2 ShotTriggers, and M2 says the product was made under rights licensed by contract with CAVE. CAVE’s official business catalogue also includes DoDonPachi Blissful Death.

M2’s product page lists Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with no PC or Xbox edition identified there. Those platform listings do not establish anything about performance differences between the console versions. M2 ShotTriggers’ official product page has the publisher’s release and edition details; CAVE’s catalogue confirms the game’s place in its business portfolio.
Which edition should you buy?
| Edition | Format | What it includes | Publisher-listed Japanese price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Physical, Switch or PS4 | Game. First-production-run packaged copies include a 24-page guide aimed at clearing one arcade-mode loop. | ¥7,480 |
| Download | Digital | Downloadable game; no physical package or limited-edition extras. | ¥4,950 |
| Limited | Physical, Switch or PS4 | Game, archive booklet with developer interviews and setting materials, reprinted arcade instruction card and board manual, special soundtrack, and Hyper item pin badge. First-production-run packaged copies also include the 24-page guide. | ¥10,780 |
Prices above are M2’s listed Japanese prices, not current retailer quotes. M2’s page does not establish present stock, international shipping, or the language of the game or packaging. Check the seller listing for your destination before ordering. The first-run guide is tied to the initial production run of packaged copies, so its inclusion in a particular copy depends on that copy’s run.

Choose the standard physical edition if you want the game on a shelf
The standard edition is the straightforward physical option for either console. It avoids paying for the limited edition’s collectible materials while giving you a packaged copy. If the 24-page loop guide matters to you, confirm that the copy is from the first production run rather than assuming every later pressing includes it.
Choose the download if convenience matters most
The digital edition avoids a physical disc or cartridge and the limited package’s extras. M2 lists it at ¥4,950 in Japan; confirm the price and availability in the store for your region, since the official Japanese listing does not establish international storefront terms.

Choose the limited edition for its archive and collectibles
The limited package is the only option documented here with the archive booklet, reprinted arcade materials, special soundtrack, and Hyper item pin badge. It is the best fit for fans who value those physical extras, not a documented upgrade in game performance or content.
Switch or PS4?
M2 lists both consoles. The practical distinction is the hardware: Switch offers portable play, while PS4 is a home-console choice. That is a general platform difference, not a claim that one version runs better. Choose the platform you already use or prefer; the available official information does not document version-specific performance differences.

What to check before ordering
- Edition and platform: Confirm whether the listing is for Switch or PS4 and whether it is standard or limited.
- Price and stock: The publisher’s Japanese list prices are not a live seller quote; check the retailer’s current listing.
- Shipping: Verify that the seller ships to your country and check any additional delivery costs or restrictions.
- Language and region: Confirm game and packaging language, and compatibility with your console and account region. The cited official listing does not settle these points for every market.
- First-run guide: For packaged copies, ask whether the 24-page guide is included if that matters to you.
M2 links Amazon Japan listings from its product page, but availability and international purchase terms need to be checked with the seller. For additional listing and review context, see Nintendo Life’s game page.
