Usually, no. A Thrustmaster racing wheel made for Xbox is not officially listed as PS5-compatible just because it shares a product family with a PlayStation wheel. Check the exact model and platform version: for example, Thrustmaster sells separate T248 versions for PS4/PS5/PC and Xbox One/Xbox Series/PC. See Thrustmaster’s compatibility list before buying or trying to use a wheel.
How to check whether your Thrustmaster wheel works on PS5
- Find the exact model and platform version. Check the label on the wheel, its packaging, or its product listing. “Thrustmaster” or a family name such as “T248” alone is not enough to identify compatibility.
- Check the PlayStation entry in Thrustmaster’s compatibility list. The manufacturer lists PlayStation and Xbox versions separately. For example, it lists T300 and T-GT/T-GT II models for PC and PlayStation 4/5, while TX and TS-XW models are listed for PC and Xbox One/Series. The T128 and T248 also have distinct PlayStation and Xbox versions. Consult the current compatibility table for the specific model.
- Check the game as well as the console. Thrustmaster advises checking for game-specific compatibility caveats. A PS5-compatible wheel is not, by itself, confirmation that every game supports it.
Why Xbox and PlayStation versions are different
Compatibility depends on the wheel’s platform version, not just its brand or shared model-family name. Thrustmaster’s listings distinguish versions intended for Xbox from versions intended for PlayStation. Treat an exact Xbox version that is not listed for PlayStation as not officially compatible with PS5.
Can changing the wheel’s mode make the Xbox version work?
No mode-switching guidance establishes that an Xbox-version wheel can be converted for PS5. Thrustmaster’s T248 support page covers the separately identified T248 PS4/PS5/PC and Xbox One/Xbox Series/PC versions. Its advice to select PS4 or PS5 mode applies when a PlayStation-version T248 is not recognized because it is in PC mode; it does not say that the Xbox version can be switched into PS5 compatibility. Read the T248 version-specific support guidance.
Likewise, Thrustmaster’s blue-for-PlayStation and green-for-PC mode guidance concerns the T128 PS4/PS5/PC version. It is not evidence that an Xbox T128 works on PS5. See the T128 PlayStation-version guidance.

Will an adapter or the TM Sim Hub solve it?
The official pages cited here do not identify an approved Xbox-to-PS5 conversion adapter or provide a conversion procedure. Do not assume a generic adapter will work: compatibility would need to be established for the exact wheel, adapter, console, and game.

What to buy if you need a PS5-compatible Thrustmaster wheel
Choose a wheel version explicitly listed for PS5 and verify the variant in the retailer’s listing. For instance, search for “Thrustmaster T248 PS5 racing wheel,” then confirm that the product is the T248 PS4/PS5/PC version—not the Xbox One/Xbox Series/PC version. That is a replacement option, not a way to adapt the Xbox wheel.
