Yes—AION 2’s global Windows PC service supports cross-play between Steam and PURPLE, and you can access the same character through either launcher with the same account. This does not establish mobile support in the current global service or progression transfer between regions.
How cross-play works between Steam and PURPLE
The official AION 2 global announcement says Steam and PURPLE players share servers. That means players using either launcher can play together on the global PC service; it is launcher-level cross-play, not evidence of cross-play with every platform.
The global service launched on October 5, 2026, according to the AION 2 official global site. The official Steam announcements identify Steam and PURPLE as the global PC platforms and list official support for both on Windows PC.
Can you use the same character on both launchers?
Yes. NCSOFT’s global support FAQs confirm access in both directions: a Steam character can be played through PURPLE with the same Steam account, and a PURPLE character can be launched through Steam using the same account.

Use the account associated with the character. These FAQs support continuity of that character between launchers; they do not describe transferring a character to a different account.
Does AION 2 support mobile cross-play or cross-progression?
Current global support information lists Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC; it does not list mobile as a supported global platform. NCSOFT’s May 30, 2025 announcement said AION 2 “will support cross-platform play across PC and mobile,” but that earlier development statement is not confirmation that mobile is part of the current global service. The current platform details are in the official global announcements.

Does progression carry between regions?
The official global FAQ lists servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. The reviewed official information does not say whether characters or progression can move between those regions, so cross-region transfer should be treated as unconfirmed. Shared servers between Steam and PURPLE do not, by themselves, establish cross-region progression.
